Govt of India - Grievance Portal

Hi All,

Got this in a mail so thought of sharing this with everyone.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi All,

Government of India has an online Grievance forum at Grievance Redress Mechanism in Government Can you imagine this is happening in INDIA?
The govt. wants people to use this tool to highlight the problems they faced while dealing with Government officials or departments like Passport Office, Electricity board, BSNL/MTNL, Railways etc.
Many of us say that these things don't work in India. Couple of months back, the Faridabad Municipal Corporation laid new roads in his area and the residents were very happy about it. But 2 weeks later, BSNL dug up the newly laid roads to install new cables which annoyed all the residents. A resident used the above listed grievance forum to highlight his concern. To his surprise, BSNL and Municipal Corporation of Faridabad were served a show cause notice and the guy received a copy of the notice in one week. Government has asked the MC and BSNL about the goof up as it's clear that both the government departments were not in sync at all.
So use this grievance forum and educate others who don't know about this facility. This way we can at least raise our concerns instead of just talking about the 'System' in India.
Invite your friends to contribute for many such happenings.
PLEASE SPREAD THIS MESSAGE IF U WANT OUR INDIA TO HAVE A BETTER TOMORROW & FORWARD THIS MAIL TO AS MANY AS POSSIBLE

This is a great step by GoI. They should make sure that the complaints are acted upon.

Well, that is a nice set of departments they can start off with.

Where is the PWD? Maybe we can write to them on the pathetic road we drive on!

(Is CPWD = PWD? It is not, right?)

Umm, I had a very different experience after registering the complaint. I made a complaint to the DoT. The next day I had a follow up call and my case was closed in a week. Yes, i got the BSNL phone (including Broadband, actually a transfer) installed in my appartment.

Why did I complaint? My apartment had all Airtel connections only and no one used BSNL. So, no cable in there adn so these fellow was just giving lame excuses like its not possible etc. That too, the exchange is 800m from my compound. I also heard that many people in my appt have applied and none of them got it because of above connection. So, people went for Airtel.

Exchange guys keep on telling that they are doing feasibility and shows how many people waiting so will take time. One complaint to this and guy comes to me askign why did i complaint to Ministry? You know what? He has assumed that I had someone known in Ministry and hence people from Ministry called them.

Anyway, I did not tell him anything and after install, almost 2 weeks the officer was following it up with me and confirming if things are ok.

So, its up to us to utilize these portals. Sometime it may not work. But keep using, and can bring in some change sure in long time if not in short time.

I too made a complaint to DoT about Airtel ( regarding the cancellation of an Airtel no). The complaint was forwarded by DoT to Airtel General Manager

After few weeks Airtel sent me an email with false information ( saying that they haven't received the cancellation request. But I have the acknowledgement mail from Airtel about the cancellation with a ref no is assigned to it ). Airtel sent the same false information to DoT and the case was closed.

I have re-opened the case ( in fact, you can open a new case and mention the old ref no on one of the fields).

Waiting for response..

These guys act smart Arunnn, I had faced the same issue. Thankfully I had kept the receipt with me so I sent the scan to everyone concerned and it got resolved after a while. I hope this issue gets sorted out very soon.

No, It's the same with me.Now, where do we complain about the grievance portal itself not working.
It seems the server couldn't take the load of so many BHPians trying to log in to check out the website.

The entire WWW will crash if Indians actually start using this! There is not enough bandwidth in the entire universe to cope with the flood!
