Warren Buffet's Message !

Warren Buffet's Message - Got it as an e-mail forwardm but worth posting it here !

"We begin this New Year with dampened enthusiasm and dented optimism. Our happiness is diluted and our peace is threatened by the financial illness that has infected our families, organizations and nations.
Everyone is desperate to find a remedy that will cure their financial illness and help them recover their financial health. They expect the financial experts to provide them with remedies, forgetting the fact that it is these experts who created this financial mess.

Every new year, I adopt a couple of old maxims as my beacons to guide my future. This self-prescribed therapy has ensured that with each passing year, I grow wiser and not older.

This year, I invite you to tap into the financial wisdom of our elders along with me, and become financially wiser.

Hard work : All hard work brings profit; but mere talk leads only to poverty.
Laziness : A sleeping lobster is carried away by the water current.
Earnings : Never depend on a single source of income.
Spending : If you buy things you don't need, you'll soon sell things you need.
Savings : Don't save what is left after spending; Spend what is left after saving.
Accounting : It's no use carrying an umbrella, if your shoes are leaking.
Auditing : Beware of little expenses; a small leak can sink a large ship.
Risk-taking : Never test the depth of the river with both feet.
Investment : Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

I'm certain that those who have already been practicing these principles remain financially healthy. I'm equally confident that those who resolve to start practicing these principles will quickly regain their financial health.
Let us become wiser and lead a happy, healthy, prosperous and peaceful life."

----- Warren Buffet

One word for the above diagram. - Herd mentality - this is actually what really kills after the initial slowdown.

Oh no, you too! I thought you were well off but understandable since your staff size is quite huge.

How cute, I've been senior management since the past 3 years yet I've never got this !
This company must really spoil their employees.

Cheers

Yeah, I was speaking to one of my cousins in one the big MNC's. When I asked her if she was feeling the pinch of recession, she said, " yeah ,the choice of free biscuits has reduced"

- The air conditioner is switched off after lunch time.
- No tissue papers in the loo. Toilet paper is there.
- Evening snacks are now marked above market price. I mean a lays packet is Rs.2 more than mrp.
- tea machine dispenses lesser tea now.
- milk is mixed with water when noone is looking
- table tennis balls are no longer provided.
- Printer access is restricted
- The fresh engineers no longer have outside 0 dialing facility.

Breakfast, Lunch and transport is still free and they have assured this will not change. Although for me no use as I come in late, bring lunch from home and use my car to commute.

Lunch is free? I doubt that. Look at your salary letter, it will have a small section benefits. There lunch cost is added. Its part of your CTC. There is no free lunch

Yes you are right up to 35 Rs lunch can be provided tax free on working days, On rest of it FBT will apply. However companies are free to subside lunch as much as they want.

In our company this 35 X no of working days is shown as component of CTC
which is tax free.

Dinner and Lunch on weekends and holidays is free for those who come to office, IT laws permit it , However Office meeting reimbursements for lunch outside is under persuit of tax laws after Chiddu introduced FBT.

Err, this is definitely taking it to the max crib. Also on a serious note, suppose a TT ball runs for three days a year, hypothetically 100 TT balls @ 30 bucks each saves a co 3k a year ?

Pittance no ?
