Quoting my own post.
Here is my story in short: Dr. Bidisha was not able to do correct diagnosis in 2+ weeks. My kid was treated by trial and error method

When we realized treatment is not going in right direction, we checked with couple of friends and consulted Dr. Taranath Shetty @ St. Philomena's. My kid is recovered in just 4 days. Hope this can help those who are in need.

Re: Calling doctors/dentists/specialists on Team-BHP to provide free consultations

Asking for an advice from Doctor friends,
My daughter (11+ years old) does 'bed wetting' during night time. Initially (when she was 4/5 years old) we consulted pediatrician but it did not work out. Then we just left it thinking that it would go on its own!
But, when it did not i thought of trying Homeopathy treatment and since 9 months or so, we have been consulting at HomeoCare International. There is some improvement since last few weeks (earlier she used to pass urine couple of times, but now she holds us at least till early in the morning and pass it only once) but I am not so sure about the treatment and also whether it can cure completely. I searched net and did not find much of an information on this.
So, my question is, does anyone has come across this kind of problem where their kid has this issue even at this age? If so, what is the action taken? Any other suggestions?

Doctors: please advice; my wife is expecting our second child. we have been thinking about going in for corld blood banking. We have taken presentations from few companies, but there have been conflicting reports about the benefits and overall utility of it coming in from doctors we have consulted.

Is it really beneficial? At last we have decided not to go for it. If its really beneficial then little money is no problem. I don't want to repent about not going for it in future.

Stem cell therapy has not fully kicked off, but definitely the thing of the future. But how far down the lane, no one knows for sure.

In the present day scenario, what companies are offering is a facility to store the cord blood. I personally am not convinced yet that Stem Cell therapy will commence in a large scale soon enough to benefit your children. Your decision to skip it seems right to me. That's the same call I took for my little one 2 years ago!

The condition is called "Nocturnal Enuresis". I see at least 4-5 such kids per month. In most of the cases, it's due to delayed maturation of neuro-hormonal mechanisms to keep dry in the night and the condition is purely benign and resolves as the child grows.

All you need to do is:

1. Reassure your child and provide emotional support. Explain her that it's a common thing which will resolve on its own eventually. Avoid angry responses and punishments for bed wetting.

2. Ask her not to take any fluids at least for 3-4 hours before she's off to bed.

3. Ask her to refrain from consuming carbonated beverages and caffeine containing drinks such as tea, coffee, etc.

4. Ask her to void urine before she gets to the bed.

5. Waking up in the midst of night a couple of times and voiding urine will definitely help her stay dry.

Trust me, non-pharmacological measures are quite effective in managing this.

P.S: I'm a Pediatrician and I myself had faced this issue which persisted till I'm 14 years old.

Mild correction: what is actually widely known as bone marrow transplant is a stem cell transplant either drawn from peripheral blood ( most of the time at least here in the US) and sometime from the actual bone marrow. It has various indications which I will not bore u with. Stem cells are immune naive cells which are CD 34 +ve among other things. Cord blood stem cell transplant is another source for stem cell for transplants. However, there are various issues with it and stem cells are commonly collected from adult for either auto-SCT, allo-SCT , haplo-SCT or a cord blood -SCT. Hopefully, I have confused everybody.

Thanks for your advice, really appreciate it, I consulted my younger brother in US also and he also agreed to your advice and hence final call was taken.

Re: Calling doctors/dentists/specialists on Team-BHP to provide free consultations

This is for my FIL aged 65 years. A week ago while riding on the rear seat of a two wheeler, his left leg suddenly developed cramps but instead of stopping and getting down, he decided to keep moving. Also when he got home he had to rush off to attend another meeting.

Since then his leg has been paining at 2 points - near the hip and at the shank - so much so that he is now unable to do anything without pain. He went to a doctor who diagnosed it as Sciatica(!). After his medicine did not help, we took him to our doctor who has diagnosed it as spasm related and he has given some pills. Our doctor also recommended seeing a orthopedic if the pain did not subside in 2-3 days.

Any pointers / suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

Re: Calling doctors/dentists/specialists on Team-BHP to provide free consultations

Need advice for dandruff which is getting worse in the NCR winters now.

I dont think it can be addressed via shampoos or anything like, need to consult a doctor.

Any suggestions on which doctor to be consulted? Should it be a dermatologist Or is there any other specialist?

Would want to avoid Batra and others similar for lots of negative feedback and instead of treatment, it has plans and packages to be given to customers.

Would prefer to go to specialist doctors. Any recommendation in NCR ?

It can. Ketomac Shampoo. Twice a week till the problem is reduced & then once a week for the rest of your life. And everytime you shampoo with Ketomac, you have to absolutely follow it with conditioner because Ketomac dries your hair & if you don't use conditioner, your hair will start itching because of dryness. Ketomac is 2% ketacanazole.

Not a doctor.

Please try Dhurdhurapatradi Thailam and apply it for one week continuously half hour before taking bath.

You can source it from any Kottakkal Arya Vaidyasala outlets or buy online from here https://www.eayur.com/ayurvedic/tail...keratailam.htm

Cheers!

Get a haircut as well, as short as possible - best remedy for dandruff.

If you really wanna consult a doctor, consult a good dermatologist.

Thanks, getting the haircut is the first thing. However, it seems the problem lies somewhere else.

Its not only dandruff but also lots of hairfall.

Shampoos have helped, but haven't yet got rid of this.

Think will consult a dermatologist only now.

Re: Calling doctors/dentists/specialists on Team-BHP to provide free consultations

1. Can hairfall be controlled or stopped?
2. My brother (age19) suffers with some allergic disorder (not sure about medical term) for the past 4 years which causes him to react to dust and pollution with uncontrolled sneezing and running nose. Add to that, he sometimes cough severely during cold seasons (we usually jog late evenings and he used to cough at night). We had consulted many doctors who prescribed the inhalers and anti allergic drugs, but these need to be continued regularly to subdue the condition. There is no improvement even after continuing these drugs. Infact things got much complicated. Skin irritation/itchiness started from nowhere and he have some terrible rashes alover the body. The doctors, upon testing Complete Blood Count, said that Eosinophilis in blood are higher than usual (12% instead of normal 1-6%). His current situation is like, if he forgot to take medicines tonight, he can't survive the next day without sneezing.
The tablet which he takes regularly is Allerone-M. I think these are preventive medicines than curing the actual problem. Can't we cure this problem completely? Would like to hear your opinion guys.
Thanks.
