100% online. Steps are given in the UAN member portal or check the YT videos for guidance.

Re: The "Provident Fund" Thread

For those who have withdrawn the EPF, how many days/months it took once the two months of non employment duration is over to get the entire amount to your account?

I am also curious on this point. I was always under the impression that if one is without a job for more than 2 months continuously we can withdraw 75% of the corpus (Employee + Employer) and remaining 25% after one additional month. Lot of websites inform the same.

But last week I read a post on Reddit by a user who mentioned that his claim was rejected citing a clause that the 2 months without employment is applicable only if the company has been declared a lockout.

Also sharing below the relevant screenshot on the withdrawal clause I found in the EPF site. Which seems to suggest it's an 'Or' clause but this could be mis-interpreted by the EPF office. I am curious to get my understanding clarified and if there is anyone here (or their friends) who have been able to withdraw their EPF corpus before retirement.

Re: The "Provident Fund" Thread

Just a quick one on PF. I had moved to a new company 3 years ago. Since this company has a private PF account ( like a separate fund), my PF transfer is taking time. Its got rejected twice due to some name mismatch etc. However the UAN number is the same.

My question is, can i simply withdraw the earlier PF? Or is it not possible since im currently employed?

My understanding is that we can close the PF account as a final settlement not as a withdrawl. It appears that the redditor chose a form that was for partial withdrawal (applicable due to personal reasons -house construction etc. or issues with the employer in disbursing salaries)

The correct form to use would be either be https://www.epfindia.gov.in/site_doc...CCF_aadhar.pdf or https://www.epfindia.gov.in/site_doc...DFs/Form19.pdf

Re: The "Provident Fund" Thread

Earlier this year, I withdrew the entire accumulated amount from my PF account by submitting form 11 (PF final settlement) and form 15G for not deducting tax. The last contribution to this PF account was 9 months prior to when I submitted with withdrawal forms. The full amount was credited to my bank account in 15 days or so.

I see that this PF account is still there when I login to the UAN portal, not sure if there is a separate process to close it. In fact, there is an older PF account still present on the portal as it was the one from which the balances were transferred to the account I withdrew from.

I had also submitted a form to withdraw the EPS amount, but that one was rejected :-(

Thanks, it makes sense. Also, I am sure there must be a exist clause like this for the people who are moving out of the country permanently on onsite opportunities.

Thanks for the update Vijay, nothing like hearing from someone who has done it themselves.

Were you able to withdraw both Employee + Employer contribution, i.e., the entire EPF corpus? Also, may I know how many year's your EPF (or UAN) account that you withdrew was running for?

My understanding is that you cannot withdraw the EPS at all, max you can ask for a scheme certificate or wait till 58 (or 60?) for the meagre pension to start.

Both the employee and employer contributions were returned to me. This particular PF account was running for around 7 years

Yes, something to this effect was mentioned as the rejection reason and I am yet to follow-up on it

Re: The "Provident Fund" Thread

Are we expected to submit some documents for partial withdrawl cases like house construction or children's education or marriage? Anyone done that recently?

Off-Topic : I was going through the website and they have an option to withdraw upto 300Rs(yes...its Three hundred ) for inconvenience due to power cuts. I would like to meet that genius who came up with the idea and the boss who approved it.

Good to know. Did they also credit the following?
1. Pending PF interest for FY 22-23, 23-24
2. Interest accumulated for period (9 months) post your last contribution

Quoting an earlier post

If your service is more than 10 years, then you cannot withdraw pension amount and you will be eligible to receive applicable monthly pension once you attain 58 years of age.

Yes, to both questions

But the FY23-24 interest for the 9 months is calculated using the interest rate for FY22-23. I believe this is what is done for mid-year withdrawals or cases where the interest rate for FY is not yet declared.

I had submitted a partial claim request online on 29-Oct and received the money in my account yesterday 19-Nov. Turn around time of 20 days is impressive I would say.

The request was for the category of house renovation for which you can claim upto 12 months of your basic salary(not 12 months of PF contribution) and doesn't require any proofs or documents. Only a scanned copy of your cheque leaf is required for account verification.

The turn around time for other categories might be different.

Re: The "Provident Fund" Thread

I have left my company but do not know when I'll take the next job. Can I shift my EPF account away from my previous employer without another job. I do not want to withdraw.
