Everything is closed ... guess what is open ????? ... a walls ice-cream vendor more or less opposite CM's camp office (actually in front of Baker's Inn to be precise) ... amazing long line of buyers waiting for their turn to eat ice-cream ... that is business acumen

Have you guys tried the "tex-mex" beside TDP office in road.no.1?
They have really good mexican food there. I love the sizzling fajitas.

I think it now goes by the name of Shikaar.

That place is no doubt mouth watering.

I practically eat there 3 days a week.

I too love the food here. I used to visit them frequently. My typical outing was a few cold mocktails at Sundowner and walk down to tex mex for some enchiladas, fajitas and burritos.

However, i dont like their burritos, they are quite indianized

Is the name changed? I alway saw the name Shikaar listed but that restuarant on the ground floor was known as TEX MEX

Yes, have seen both names - seems to be two restaurants in one location. Or one restaurant with two parts, whichever you prefer.

It is called Shikaar now .. The time when it was called Tex Mex, there were two partitions of the restuarant on the ground floor. Now, its one single restuarant serving both Mexican and Indian / Chinese.

I think it definitely is a great place to have Mexican, though I find it a little Indianised :-)

In Indian cuisine, Paneer Kali Mirch, Murgh Kali Mirch and stuffed kulchas are mouth watering...

Dinned at RedBeans Gacchibowli. The place was really god and the food was great/ Ordered:
1. Veg manchow soup - OKay
2. Mushroom manchuria - awesome. The best I ever had.
3. Tandori Roti
4. Kadai Paneer - Good
5. Veg Biryani- Rice was great but biryani was not upto my liking. Very little masala / vegetables.

Total Cost 590/- including tip.

Overall- A place which I will like to visit again regularly

Went to Banne Nawab at ToliChowki yesterday. Wanted to have their famed Pathar ka Gosht which along with Seekh Kabab was not available. So ordered
  1. Dum Kheema - their Special of the day - Very dry and too strong taste
  2. Paya - Never had had before - Tasteless
  3. Sheermal and Roomali
Overall the food was tasteless and most likely we will never go back again.

Wanted feedback from other foodies regarding MANDAR in the same complex

Do go again. Do not form an opinion based on what you ate, your opinion should be based on eating what is famous there - pathar ka gosht.

Try pathar ka gosht at Bade Miyan in Babukhan Mall at Somajiguda (do not skip the spicy mint chutney) ... compare with Banne Nawab.

Little Italy has shifted a few months back. It is now no more on the main road from Road No. 12 of Banjara Hills towards Film Nagar of Jubilee Hills before Bubbles.

You need to take a sharp left at Lanco office just before VW showroom onto the road leading to Apollo back gate a few hundred metres before the earlier venue. (17°24'57"N, 78°25'0"E).

The new place is on a higher floor in a building on a hill so has a nice view of KBR with 3 walls being glass. The most ideal time to visit will be when sky is overcast and at lunch time.

Downside was minimal lighting through candles - so dark that you cannot even read the menu. That also resulted in people talking to each other louder than normal (must be something to do with that when you cannot see a person clearly, you end up talking louder to reach out).

Food is expensive with most dishes in 300-350 range - total 4K for 6 of us.

They still do not have a liqour licence as yet. So I had sweetened fresh lime water with mint leaves muddled into it and unofficial 60 ml spiked into it.

Like Hyd said, dont form an opinion without having their following dishes which i really loved

Haleem
Pathar Ka Ghost
Firni

I am going to try their Chicken Tandoori next time whenever i go.

I am a regular at Mandar, I like the Biryani, Tandoori Chicken there which is the only thing that i have ordered till now.

Infact, a small group led by Hillram been to Mandar and thats when i started liking their biryani and been there later 3-4 times.

My My, you remind me of my college days when we use to spike our mocktails before entering a movie theatre

If you are going to Inox, choices are as follows:
  1. Chinese Bandi outside GVK One
  2. Utupura - Mallu Restaurant
  3. Sahib Sindh Sultan
  4. Sarvi Haleem
  5. Fusion 9
  6. sOUTHERN sPICE
  7. Seventh Heaven
  8. Aroma
  9. Mainland China
  10. Chinese and Thai Dinner Buffet at Taj Banjara for 400 All Inclusive
I had food from Y2K last evening. Food as usual was good but they seem to have reduced their quantities

That's a pretty long list dude. Due to recession will stick to Haleem at Sarvi and Bandhi Chinese and then movie at INOX

Btw, congrats on becoming a Sr.Bhpian..That was super fast
