Myself, Travelholic, Ctrl Alt Del, No Rules, Shobith Mathur, Sparsh and Abhijeet went to Grills N Steak, Gachibowli for a fabulous mind-boggling no holds bar seafood buffet.

The amount of sea-food that we ordered on table must have brought out some serious sweat to the owner and some of above did real justice to king sized prawns and estimatedly consumed more than 1KG between the four of them

Almost each and every dish was excellent and throughly enjoyed the lunch.

Buffet was priced at Rs.387 A.I and terribly value for money.

Had lunch at Abhiruchi Mess, Near Nectar Gardens - Thaali meals and Mutton Fry. The place was jam packed when we reached at 1.30, had to wait for few mins before we got seats. The thaali was excellent and mutton fry was very good.

Total cost for 2 - 300/-

Mutton fry was 140/- and thaali 70/- each.

They have it most evenings.

It is in the driveway just before the exit gate of Babukhan Mall. Babukhan Mall is just before Amrutha Mall. Babukhan mall is a bit after Landmark & Westside which are just after Spar. Babukhan Mall is opposite Kalanikethan Mall.

So, if you are coming from Banjara Hills / Jubilee Hills side, cross Hyderabad Central using the flyover, continue straight and cross CM's Camp Office, do not take the Lifestyle flyover but stick to the service lane and take a U-Turn at Greenlands Junction, cross ITC Kakatiya, then Mainland China, then Spar, then Westside, then a jeweller and turn left into Babukhan Mall.

PS : Do order warqi paranthas with the gosht and do not skip the very very spicy green chutney.

There's a small restaurant Delhi 39 under the New Gachibowli flyover. It's a takeaway joint and heard a lot about their food.

Packed some nice Paneer and Malai Kofta for home for Friday night. Although a small joint, the food is worth a try with nominal prices.

Manpasand Food Plaza, Gachibowli-
I mentioned this place in a post before when I visited it for the first time. Now after many visits for takeaway I highly recommend this place, specially for vegetarians its a must visit. Vegeterian food never tasted this good any where else. These days its my first choice for takeaways. Wifey who is a veggie absolutely loves this place. I mostly order curry items with pulao and naan. The place is hygienic, clean, moderately priced and the dishes have a character. Service is reasonably fast.
Recommended as per my experience-
Paneer Dhaniya Mirchi, Kaju Makhana Matar, Masala Kulcha, Veg Pulao.

There is still a lot to explore at this joint as their menu is fairly elaborate.

Writeups can wait but not the proof's of sinful indulgence we did at Grills N Steaks. Could not capture much pics, but some do justify the love of prawns we showed.

I do not know how to extract the prawn meat from the shells and so am not at all impressed.

I love my prawns to be properly de-veined and shell removed before being cooked and served to me.

BTW, how do you de-vein the prawns on the table?

saar...these orawns were served with their shells split in the middle. It was easy to open the shell and scoop out the flesh inside. Yumm!

Were they de-veined?

Not very important for me, but my wife throws a fit if they are served that way. The food looks very nice and am so tempted.

Yes, these were properly de-veined. The whole purpose of splitting the Prawn shell in half before making it as a whole is to remove the vein and serve it as a whole.

As far as eating it is concerned, it was as simple as pull and pop in your mouth types. No much issues with it.

Not clear why it is not important to you. Is it because you are a muslim and since prawns are not makrooh, you anyway do not eat them?

I guess he just wanted to say that Devein or Not, he has no issues with it. What he says is right. Some people are allergic to veined prawns, where as some are not. His statement could have meant that he has no issues if it is deveined or not. However, his better half does have a problem if it is not properly deveined. Removal of the Vein is HIGHLY recommended.

If I remember correctly, Prawns are very much Makrooh. However, I am lost in explaining the concept of Makrooh, but I for sure remember someone saying that Prawns can be consumed with out any issue.

Makrooh or Not, Prawns are delicious and should be devined always PERIOD

Except some fishes like sharks, oysters and squid, I eat (almost) everything from the sea.
So does everyone in my family.

Different schools have different rules.

I don't mind de-veining because I am ok with doing it myself on cooked prawns and then eating the flesh.

My rule about food is simple. If its not haram.
I am eating it. I don't consider makrooh as haram.
