Avi, I'm game for some Pakwaan!

Wasim starting at 9 PM is technically not feasible as we will be engaged in discussion earlier.

Last evening caught up with a couple of old friends at " F Bar and Lounge" Kondapur.

Ambience is quite nice with wooden flooring and dungeon type of wood and environments. Good for cold weathers.

We ordered the following :-

Kaju Fry
Finger Chips
Fish Au Gratin
Chilly Fish
Paneer Tikka Masala
Butter Chicken
Rotis

I just had four small lassi and my friends had 1.5 each of sherbet.

Bill was a shattering Rs.4350 ( Rs.1500/Head was totally not worth it. I am still fuming...) This was after i insisted on 15% minimum discount and i took a quick glance and taxes ran up to close to 700 bucks.

All dishes are in Rs.300++ ranges and beverage pricing is sky high. Except the crocery used and presentation, food is absolutely dismal.

Chilly Fish was excellent

Paneer Tikka was average

Butter Chicken was horrible with a sweetish taste

Rotis were crap

Its a place for firangs ( it was full of them) and maybe we made a mistake of ordering indian food. Probably their continental stuff is good.

I wont ever step into this place again.

I am sorry, but I could not understand : F(IRANGI) Bar and Lounge.

I thought it is F(ashion [like in Fashion TV]) while the other is Firangi (not F) at City Center Mall.

PS:I always wonder, why do people walk around in restaurants?

Ah..ha! I have a faint inkling that "Mayabazar" will become the next "Sholay"

Saturday, Hyd folks met at First Transit Hotel in Shamshabad for LUNCH and enjoyed some finger licking good food, thanks to Suren181

Veg Manchuria
Chicken 65
Chilly Chicken
Gobi 65
Veg Fingers
Mutton Curry
Phulkas
Mutton Biryani
Gulab Jamun

Almost all the snacks very delicious but, i loved the Veg Manchuria the most.

Mutton Curry was outstanding, it had distinct flavour and very spicy to tease your tastebuds.

Mutton Biryani was not regular style but, nonetheless it was quite good due to the good meat laden into it.

----------------------------SUNDAY DINNER------------------------

Sunday evening, was feeling lazy and did something that i normally dont do. Eat personally in a joint close to my home.

Visited Hyderabad House, Himayathnagar which is less than 100 meters from home.

Firstly, they have been taught a lesson to bring themselves back to earth. This establishment was thinking too much of itself and if you recall was first to sell dishes on weight basis.

I was glad to see they brought their prices down quite a notch and this is what we ordered

Chicken Tikka : Rs.144
Mutton Roganjosh : Rs.149
Rumali Rotis : Rs. 11 each
Mutton Biryani ( Regular) : Rs.132
Thumbs-Up : Rs.20

Total Damages: Rs.509

Chicken Tikka was just OK

Mutton Roganjosh had water for gravy and big chunky pieces. Utter Crap !

Mutton Biryani was good but, nothing extraordinary. I like their salan, its authentic. Hard to find that taste elsewhere.

I will give HH a break for another year before i visit them again.

I do agree that their salan is good but did you find any meat in the mutton biryani?

Now that you mentioned it, they are notorious for giving less meat in their biryani but, those weighing days are gone and there were decent amount of meat in the biryani and was tender too.

Roganjosh was so bad, i felt like rioting their restuarant

After a great lunch with bhpians on Saturday, Sunday evening took me to The Great Kebab Factory to celebrate a friend's birthday. However, we were disappointed to know that they do not serve drinks any longer, so we hastily beat the retreat.

We visited Zafraan Exotica in the vicinity and got an indoor table for 5 immediately---the outdoor ones were all full already. We had a finger-licking time there and my wife simply fell for the place, both for its ambience and food.

We had the following:-
  1. Chilly Chicken Dry------------------Rs 220
  2. Lat Me Kai-------------------------Rs 220
  3. Murg Tikka-------------------------Rs 220
  4. Paneer Tikka Mirchwala-------------Rs 190
  5. Subz Sheek Kebab------------------Rs 180
  6. Veg Shanghai Spring Rolls-----------Rs 180
All items were sumptuously delicious--almost melting in the mouth except the spring rolls, and I liked the first item the most. Liquids were however priced around Rs 300 a glass. It was a great experience for the price---however the 16% tax appeared a bit steep.

Thereafter we visited Creamstone on KBR road for desserts and ordered Ferrero Rocher ice-cream---it was fabulous but a bit pricey--the quantity was also less than the cup suggested.
