Re: The "Jobs available in my organisation" thread

In the next 2 - 3 months I am looking to hire a programmer. For a series of projects which will span about 3-6 months. These are fairly simple projects, for me personally, not a company or anything.

Whats the best way of finding someone / and where do I post ads for this ?

what kind of programmer are you looking for?

depending upon how much you are ready to pay, there may be various options for you to choose from; one such is Freelancer.com - Hire Freelancers & Find Freelance Jobs Online.

if your projects are really simple and small, you may also try to get final year graduation students (from IT) who would love to work on a live project and probably get some monetary benefit also.

oDesk is more portal you can hire. Earlier we used to do projects from oDesk. Let me know if you need any help still have certain contacts or if it is fairly good I can myself get it done.

Re: The "Jobs available in my organisation" thread

Ideally I am looking for someone who can write code in AFL (Amibroker Formulae Language). -- I'll pay a lot more for that.
But that seems to be too niche to find. The projects are all where .csv data has to be stored in a database. Then the programmer has to write code 1) To find statistically significant relationships in that data. 2) Back test my strategy on old historic data.
3) Graphically represent the output.
All of this should take about 6 months I estimate.

What kind of programmer would be ideally suited for this? (In the absence of a AFL programmer). And roughly how much would it cost me ?

Thanks for the sites, I didn't know this kind of stuff existed.
