Re: Do you play the stock market

nseindia.com and bseindia.com, every news channel takes data and information from these two sites, and add masala to it and present on tv.

Re: Do you play the stock market

Limit price = its the price set for getting the order executed at a fixed rate, i.e if you want to sell "abc" company for "1000" quantity at a "Limit Price" of Rs.150/- then the order will be kept for sale at Rs.150/- for 1000 quantity. its the Limit set that the Order should be sold at Rs150/-

SLTP :- Its the price which you put which if the stock price reaches, squares off your position as soon it is reached, its the price of "Last traded price".

Re: Do you play the stock market

Query to some of the experts.../ Anyone here who was holding stocks of Nagarjuna Fertilizers ?

Per the following notice the stock no longer trades due to a merger.

Nagarjuna Fertilizer & Chemicals Limited has informed the Exchange that
the Company has fixed September 01, 2011 as the record date for the purpose of
determining the shareholders eligible to receive shares in Nagarjuna Oil Refinery
Limited (NORL) and Kakinada Fertilizers Limited (KFL).. etc..

http://nseindia.com/content/circulars/faop18614.pdf

However till date my Demat a/c still shows the old stocks. Do I need to take any action on my end for this to auto switch over ??

your portfoio consists of very sound stocks and as for the long term it may perform reasonably well. but as of now we are in a bear market due to global crisis. so it might be prudent to exit wherever you are getting it and entering or adding to the portfolio at attractive levels.

Re: Do you play the stock market

Hi everybody
if you take the market capitilization as a ratio to our GDP then in the next 20 years or so our sensex should touch 60000
As of today just about 1 % invests in the stock(whether through mutual funds or directly). This is bound to increase as more and more people invest.10/12 years back small towns did not have stock brokers today you are spolt for choice.
Maybe the last few years have not helped the newbies but things will change.
My suggestion is if you are not a professional investor buy mutual funds or invest in blue chips and keep adding to them.Dont worry about day to day fluctuations. The only certainty is the markey will fluctuate
Dont speculate or day trade(warren buffet"derivatives are mass weapons of financial destruction")
Thumb rule 100 minus your age should be in equities

In fact, I wanted to invest in gold ETF. But, since the gold price has shot up today, even gold ETF shares were quoted more than Rs 2620 each, when I logged in. So, I ended up with a token purchase of black gold! BSE Sensex was up by 34 points at the end of muhurat session.
