Benny, one suggestion- get your wheels painted matt - that way the wheel covers will stand out better and give an alloy like look like the SLE.

Viddy had suggested the same as well, will definitely consider it sometime down the line.

Pl see a recent Hariya's pic which makes it more clear. In fact, his wheels rims were painted black from the factory itself.

Benny, lovely pics, loved the one where you have a bridge (railway line?) along the road, also the one near the stream, what places are these in Kerala?

Re: All T-BHP Scorpio Owners with Pics of their SUV

Gee folks, looking at all the gorgeous pics on this thread, I now can't make up my mind what my next purchase (middle 2012) is gonna be - the Safari or the Scorp. I guess this is nothing new - that has been a typical dilemma of many folks on this forum, even after reading a ton of ownership and photo threads of both types.

One thing I am clear about, I definitely want a 4x4 with ABS at the least, since I do have plans to do Leh, Ladakh, Sikkim, Arunachal, Bhutan etc. in the next few years, and drive it over all kinds of terrain where I can manange to get a permit to drive on.
In fact, before visiting this thread, my heart was clearly on the Safari beastie, to be honest. Now I am not so sure.

To me, the Safari has killer looks and stance from the back, while the Scorp looks absolutely stunning from the front. Maybe I should just buy any one and do a whacky modification job. No, just kidding.

I think the 180mm ground clearance on the Scorp is a little less practical than on the Safari. My previous Ford Fusion had 195mm GC and never once scraped bottom over whatever terrible roads (or the lack of it) that I took it on. But I guess this shouldn't be much of an issue except during serious off-roading with the Scorp. At least I haven't read about you Scorp owners complaining much about the GC.

Looking at the pricing, I can get a Scorp with 4x4 ABS for at least 1.5L less than a 4x4 Safari, and this is ex-showroom. OTR will translate to over 2L difference. So, thats quite a strong motivation to go for the Scorp !!!

On the other hand, I have read a lot about the body roll and long drive comfort, especially in the middle row, where the Safari clearly scores better over the Scorp. Again I am just going by what you, dear owners, have reported. This may turn out to be a big deal when I take my family on long drives. So, maybe I'll just ask my wife to sit in the middle row while TD-ing both the vehicles, and let HER decide. I don't have to make every decision in the family, now do I?

Thanks Hari. The first pic was taken beside a famous railway bridge, ie Punalur-Shenkottai rail line. You can read more on the same at the following travelogue written by fellow TBHPian Mysticeyes. Link

We decided to visit the place after being reminded of it when reading the travelogue. Since you liked it, i am attaching another one from the same place.

The other pic is taken near the Palaruvi waterfalls.

Re: All T-BHP Scorpio Owners with Pics of their SUV

OT,

Today i saw a Safari EX with Scorpio VLX alloys while on the way to office. The safari looked really beautiful with Scorpio alloys.

I mean this alloy,

Name: Scorp Alloy.bmp

Size: 211.2 KB

Is the Scorpio alloys are direct fit to Safari?
Some how the owner managed to put TATA logo by replacing the Mahindra logo in the Wheel hub. It was really nice to look

Haven't been shooting much offlate, thanks to my little one. I cant pull the camera out when shezz around,if I did then she considers the D300s to be her toy for the next hour.

Shot with the Tokina 12-24mm with a CPL. The sunlight was way too harsh to even do something during PP.

This is an often misunderstood fact. GC is measured from the lowest point in the car. In case of the Scorpio, it is the differential. the differential usually never hits the ground as it is attached to the rear tyres.

Fusion has no differential. hence the actual GC of Scorpio would be more.
