i have brother. well in my opinion, it doesn't really help much in this beast. the reason - safari has got door claddings in the lower portion so even before the door guard reaches the exterior object, the claddings come into contact and get small scratches. if you would like to put them on, i would advice you to put one each on the claddings too, so that makes 2 on each door.

Thats the only safari on earth that lives like a mountain goat all its life.:D
If its surviving that kind of conditions, that SUV needs to be in the Guiness record.
It will be mostly in the Himalayan range as always.
One from my side.
My 3.0-litre EX at Mahabaleshwar.
Drifter
Thanks guys, the details are in the TLOG section!

I could not agree more. TSK's Safari has taken him to places with nil human habitation, leave apart technical support and brought him back safely. And interestingly we get questions marks on Safari's reliability rl:
safari feeling at home..

That video with a bit of editing and some nice music is a perfect Ad material.
Surprisingly TATA has limited their Safari Ad frequency. Found out from the dealship, They have huge orders and numerous deliveries of the Safari's since last 6 months, selling like hot cakes clap:. Maybe its time they dont need any more ads to sell the Safari.

Dear Tanveer,
I should have asked it in Photography thread but since the pic is posted here 905322033_q2GKS-L.jpg I think is taken using 10-24 Lens you got, Now As I see that the bonnet near to center looks small where as the rear of Safari looks enlarged .. This is kind of reverse of Fish eye effect .Obviously it is not a lens distortion else it would have looked distorted towards edges.
Is this kind of change in proportions towards center expected in wide angled lens or this is some sort of effect.
Regards
The White Elephant - going where no Safari has gone before ?
TSK, I will be surprised if the GB count of your pics is lesser than your diesel count in litres. Loved the section of the video at the far end & after turning back. Any stills at that spot - on the return part there, with the mountains in the background ?

Sudhan, lovely pics. Suggest posting higher resolution pics there : will bring out the beauty of the color combination. Well kept, too :)

ADC, a slightly modified pic of your Safari :

Door Edge Molding. Am using that on my Sumo, and it has been a saviour many a time. Check the pic in this post :

Yes, the distortion is due to extreme wide angle. With 10mm, it is to be expected. I am still grasping how to use this distortion to creative effect1

Actually, barely days after our trip, another safari 4x4 made it to here. Infact that black 4x4 went to chumur also, and Tso moriri via Ungti La. So you have the 4x4 safari's treading where no vehicles tread.
I got a lot of shots, will post some, but not many with safari.
Anyways, to give you a glimpse of the terrain on some sections, here is another video
YouTube - Tanveer's 4x4 on the Agham - Shyok route.

Here is a video.
This is near Hanle. We took a wrong track and ended up on a freaky looking plane. It was really really huge, and not a soul in sight. |
tanveer the skies look dramatic in the video man. Awesome is an understatement to make for that location.
Ok listen , stop showing off now :D . I agree I haven't seen any pictures as these with such skies around. Perfect !!
