Well, the South African's are associated with this 'chokers' tag for a reason & it was on display the other day! I don't think Vinay Kumar himself would have imagined in his wildest dreams that he would bowl such a good last over.

re: The IPL Thread (Fantasy game league details on pg 238)

No point blaming Yuvi; but that he is scratchy right now and no one would doubt that. But RCB lost this and they have themselves to blame.

MI: Well, I do not know what these guys are thinking. Only Rohit looks the guy who can score. For me they are just too timid a side.
CSK are winning but I do not think they have it in them to win it this time; their bowling just not good.
KXIP: Again, what a breath of fresh air! Love these guys to keep going on. They way they have played is something you want to watch in T20s.

Tomorrows match between KKR and KXIP is much awaited, lets see who comes out on top. Bailey needs to move up the order if a wicket falls quickly. Like Pujara and Viru opening and Pujara is like the anchor who keep his end up - very important and often missed by teams having too much firepower.

My fav players so far: Maxwell, Lynn, Brendo, Samson, Aaron, Chahal, Devon Smith (Gotta Love his name DR. Smith!), Duminy
Biggest Disappointments: Yuvi, Polly, Warner, Hussey, Dhawan, Mitch

A word of appreciation for IPL: You guys create an amazing time pass spectacle.

re: The IPL Thread (Fantasy game league details on pg 238)

Yuvi is not scratchy he is very scratchy indeed. If he remains like this then we can goodbye to our WC15 chances. To win WC that sort of player is needed who can turn the match on his own and apart from Kohli we dont have any other player who can do it. Dhoni is most over hyped cricketer ever since he made his debut.

I have been a fan of KXIP but apart from very 1st year when they won 12 out of 14 matches, they never did anything commendable for their fans. And now with Sanjay Bangar given the control, KXIP has got it right not just with buying players but also choosing best suited eleven for that match. I was against Pujara in the eleven but he has done his role beautifully keeping one end intact.
The best MI can do now is to sack their think tank who let go players like Dr Smith, Maxwell and retained players like Pollard (who hardly performed) and Raydu. Rohit and Harbhajjan will come to party sooner. On the top of it they bought Hussey who is clearly out of form as he retired long ago. CSK was clever to let him go.

And yes I agree even I dont have to worry how to spend the evenings now with the IPL.

RCB Musings:
1.Where is the "Yuvi" of yore Mr.Singh, team owners must be wondering if they will get the ROI on Rs.14 Crore they invested on you
2.At the toss for the RCB Vs RR match, Virat said it looks like a good batting track and expects a high scoring match - it ended with RCB 70 all out and RR taking 15 overs to score 71

RCB really needs Gayle. Imagine the sight of bowlers finding Patel and Takawale as openers! They would be like - Thank God! No offense but in T20s it matters 'how' you score. I can have either of the two opening with Gayle, if he is not fit then Kohli, followed by AB.

Bat your best at the top, plain and simple. Ideal order - Gayle, Patel, Kohli, AB, Yuvi .. then the rest. As far as Yuvi is concerned, he should just go out and bat like he does - forget what has happened so far. Easier said than done, though. Those 14Crs are hanging over his head.
RCB should be happy that their bowling holding up all right so far.

P.S. Last evening was such a waste with 2 bad games. Good atleast KXIP kept winning.

re: The IPL Thread (Fantasy game league details on pg 238)

The UAE leg is almost about to complete and surprise surpise, Kings XI is leading the points table. I had thought they were heavily dependent on M brothers(Maxwell and Miller) but in the last two matches sehwag and KP are starting to play well too. I hope they continue the good form even in the latter part of the tournament.

CSK is also growing strong and they are again going to be strong contenders esp now that the tournament will move to India.

Out of all the other teams, I am disappointed in RCB! Wonder whats happening in the team. They are playing clueless cricket and every one in the team are suddenly not playing well. They need to seriously sit back and rethink the team strategy.

Hope to see more competitive matches and lots of close matches soon so that it will be interesting to decide the final four.

re: The IPL Thread (Fantasy game league details on pg 238)

Sad to see MI and RCB perform this bad. The biggest buys(Yuvraj, Corey) are not helping them much.
CSK on the other hand, are going strength to strength. Their biggest advantage as I see is their bowling line up going strong with our Indian Players rather than depending too much on overseas players. Baz and Dr. Smith are a good buy for them. The void in the opening is cleared for them now.
It would also be interesting to see how KXIP fares once the Indian Leg starts. They dont have a specialist spinner(except for Murali Karthik) and with Indian pitches, it would be nice to wait and see and also to see, how the slogging Maxwell fares in Indian pitches. Hope he does not catch up the old memories of his last Test tour to India.

re: The IPL Thread (Fantasy game league details on pg 238)

The first few matches of the Indian leg of the IPL has thrown in few surprises again. RR again pulled the match from KKR with 6 wickets fallin for 2 runs. They won or rather KKR Kost in 2 overs. Watson removing 3 and then Pravin tambe getting a hattrick in the next over.

CSK is going strong and how MI would be ruining having let go of Dwayne smith. If he and mccullum continue playing the same way then CSK is assured of winning the title.

RCB has for once managed to win and thanks to that man ABD. He single handledly won the match against SRH . Amazing strikes against Dale steyn no less shows his class. And it was nice to see they both hugging at the end of the match.

CSK is basically winning with 10 players! Mithun Manhas who is in the team is hardly required to do anything. Mohit Sharma was clobbered yesterday but he also has bowled reasonably well in other games.

Mithun fielding is also poor, hey, what's he doing in CSK's team? One of the many questions about CSK we can't find a logical answer to.

+1 on that. They have Dhoni, Jadeja, Mohit, Raina, Ashwin who are 5 established players at international level(Mohit to a less extent). 4 foreign players in Hilfenhaus, Smith, McCullum, du Plessis. So they got 9 powerful players already.

The uncapped players are Ishwar Panday and Manhas. But Ishwar Pandey is supposed to be waiting for a chance and Manhas, on his day, does play well.

If you consider other sides, they have lesser Indian players who are established at the international level. The other teams also have discarded Indian Players(Sehwag/Zaheer).

re: The IPL Thread (Fantasy game league details on pg 238)

One thing I wish to change in CSK is that they need to test their bench strength occassionally.
If they get the combination correct, they stick with it throughout the tournament.
Now,with 6 straight wins in a row, I believe it is time to test the bench strength.
May be Faf and Hifenhaus can make way for couple of more foreigners. If Samuel Badree comes in may be Ashwin can take some rest. Samuel Badree can be supported by Baba Aparajith who is sitting in bench for the last 3 seasons. He is proven all-rounder in the under-19 segment. Mithun or Ishwar can also make way for Pawan Negi.

One more win for MI. That is heartening. Still a mountain to climb to be in contention for the playoffs. Also with Zaheer out of IPL, MI is one bowler short :-(

I too looking for the same. The latest i know is, tickets will be available at The Mobile Store in 3 branches Marthahalli CMH Road and Indiranagar. They have only 2250 and 2500 rs ticket.

At the stadium they give only 1 ticket per head. Not sure of cost and not sure of availability.
