Oh yeah i remember one such last ball finish. The field is brought in and bowler throws in a half pitched slow delivery

Am i the only one who thinks the whole episode of spot fixing was just an eye wash? A distraction?

Not playing balaji might be a pre planned agreement with CSK as it might have been decided that KKR will win the finals. Playing balaji instead of Lee will only prove expensive as the former is known to leak lots during pressure situations.

I predict CSK will score 175+ on a placid wicket with KKR winning off the last ball! Hope my prediction goes horribly wrong.

Seems like what everyone and I had predicted has come true. The 'surprise' winner is KKR.
But well batted KKR especially Kallis as anchor and Bislama for the hurricane knock.

All said and done, plays to script, as an edge of the seat IPL Final. now SRK is going to go berserk.

More or less, you predicted it right. Congrats KKR. So the next season will see the innaguration happening in Kolkatta.

Well defended CSK. You deserve applauds for being such a wonderful unit alltogether.

Great going KKR. They kept their cool under pressure and the knock by Bisla is applaudable. Not to forget the knock by Raina in the first innings. Overall an excellent match as both the teams outdid themselves to get the crown.

Whatta match !! The no ball at the end and Hussey toppling over while taking the catch were the critical moments where luck went KKR way.

Was really happy to see GG win the trophy, well deserved.

Regd Bisla - he is unlikely to play for India but lets hope he does well in subsequent IPLs and does not fizzle out like Paul Valthaty.

Congrats to Gautam for a well deserved and hard fought win. Not many teams can chase 190 in a final and specially when the captain who has led from the front was back in the hut in the first over itself. Bisla played with freedom and the Gods were smiling on him. KKR is the 3rd team he has represented in IPL.

I watnted CSK to win the title but now I feel that KKR deserve this win. I was amazed at Gambir's interview during the presentation. He spoke like a Captain and mentioned about the unsung hero of his team "Balaji". I liked that very much and he served as a good example of a Captain.

You represented my thoughts but forgot to add the ROFL! smiley to the post.
I am 100% sure that the no-ball was not genuine especially at that juncture. If anyone notices, there were very high no. of no-balls being bowled in this year's IPL esp at crucial juncture.

re: The IPL Thread (Fantasy game league details on pg 238)

Did WB Govt give gold medal to each KKR player for winning IPL 5? Is IPL a inter-state championship? How funny can it get?

PS: Even SRK, Juhi Chawla & her husband got the gold chain & medal !

Not sure if Chennai, Deccan and Rajasthan have such a celebration when they won their respective IPL? And why is there a poster of Mamata on the caravan?
