If there is a possibility of finding the battery in Dubai at a retail store, it would mostly likely be at Sharaf DG in the Times Square mall along the Sheikh Zayed road in Dubai. It's the largest electronics store in Dubai and they do sell camera accessories. There is a Sony Jumbo workshop in Dubai (I think it is closer to Al Ghusais, the Sharjah-Dubai border) that you could try as they repair different brands of electronics, though I'm not sure if it's only for laptops.

Oh, and while you're at the Sheikh Zayed road, you are not too far from the Internet City, the Knowledge Village, and the Media City so you could go and visit those places too. The Internet City and the Knowledge Village have food courts that you could get lunch/dinner at. I'll drop you a PM with some other places you can check out.

BTW, the cars parked at the American University in Dubai (close to the Internet City) may cause your jaw to drop.
