Wonder what is happening.

Update on the Processing:
My spouse return that was informed as processed on 25/07/23 was indeed processed but there was no E-mail update.
I found out this while logging in to pay the advance tax and downloaded the processed 143(1).

And in my case the return was processed on 05/09/23 and the refund was credited on 06/09/23.
So everything is complete for the last year and now busy with advance tax computations and payment for this year.

Looks like a year long affair especially if managing multiple account of family members.

Finally my wife’s IT refund is processed. Refund includes the interest from April onwards.

PS: I am still waiting for mine, and still the status shows as in progress (blue circle) on processing.

Same with me a of today. My daughter filed the IT returns of my wife and me on July 23rd and 25th respectively. In my case, she filed a revised return a couple of days later.

My wife got her refund a couple of weeks ago. Hers was ITR-2. But mine still shows a blue circle around Return Processing for the past 2 months. I guess ITR-3s like mine will take time. Or perhaps those who have filed a revised return.

Incidentally, my son-in-law got his refund a week after my wife. His was an ITR-1.

I don't know about last FY, bit one of my friend filed the ITR3 for 2020-21. It was processed full 1year later, with refund and interest on the same. Seems ITR3 takes some time to get processed.

Finally today I received the refund email with detailed report, but the refund is yet to credit. By the way, mine was ITR 2.

Hi Manish, Hope you can help me with this.

I got a freelancing opportunity with a firm and joined there as a contractor couple of months ago. As per their terms, they are sending my payout after deducting 10% TDS. But since the amount is >40L, I want to know if I have to pay additional tax on top of the 10% TDS they are deducting?

Is there a way for me to use the Presumptive taxation and reduce the tax burden since I'm not an employee of that firm? Please help me out or you can guide me with this issue.

Dear xcentrk,

Your taxability/rate will depend on your total taxable income of which the above earnings shall form part. What I mean to say is that you will taxed as per slabs rate applicable to new/old scheme. The portion of net profit from the above project shall form part of your total income and then slabs apply.

Presumptive model may be available both in 44AD or 44ADA depending on a few factors. May I request you to drop me a detailed mail at camanishkumartripathi@gmail.com. I hope I will be able to sort your doubts.

Thanks. Perhaps the refund was below a lakh? I'm told that refunds exceeding that amount are taking time as they are being put to greater scrutiny.

For members awaiting their refunds, please ensure the bank validations and ensure PAN is linked in that bank account. More than 35 lacs refund cases are held up due to bank and other validations. Please check once. If things are all right and still you await your refund, do raise a grievance by logging in your portal. ITR-3, does appear to take longer to process even otherwise.

This was done nearly a decade ago. And Aadhar linked too. Thanks, I will raise a grievance after waiting for a month.
