if i were you i wouldn't buy that car. It looks like s**t, pardon my french. Also, i agree with californiaKnight that parts are gonna be awfully hard to come by.
Or maybe Popular motors picked them up to and will sell them to all the owners of these vehicals at horrendous prices.
Watch out!!

Those engines are bloody good....forget the car.
Those engines may have never been run-in for all these years. And yes the cars are still there.

You mean if they agree to ship the car to u in cochin and "agree to provide" service you will buy that car?!! just because you liked the price!!! What on earth made you... I mean there are so many overall good deals available everywhere. Why more than a decade old car that was never even run in and (proabably) has all its internals in rust?!!

Cars are built to run. These cars will be a nightmare to own.

Would make for a good restoration project.
Buy all 12 of them and restore one of them back to shape.

3.89L for 12 will be a good price, I mean, 3.89 L for one car and rest of the cars free as spares

Guys avoid these at all costs. They were not considered very good cars in the UK due to quality control problems. I would not have one if they paid me to take it away. I am surprised they have lasted that long, I have not seen a Montego in the UK for years (I expect most ended up in scrap yards).

If someone really want one then come to the UK and go to a few car auctions (on the days they have part exchange cars) you may pick up a Montego for less than £50 (4000RS) or you could get a similar sized Vauxhall Cavalier or Ford Saphire for the same money. You could then drive (or push) it back to India.

Oh come on, the car wasnt so bad.....but it was the butt of all jokes with the british motoring press.....

Its not exactly a steal at 3.95, especially (as GTO mentioned) because unused cars are going to give a lot of trouble.

It was, it was a truly poor car. The Montego and the Maestro were two of the worst cars produced in 80s/90s. The quality was very poor, in fact I think a Cornetto ice cream has more attention paid to quality than was ever spent on the Montego. Even the "sporty! MG Montego was nothing to write home about.

There was a very funny joke about these cars. Apparently a salesman was not selling much so his company swapped his Vauxhall for a Montego and told him improve your figures else you will drive this forever. The salesman turned round his sales figures within a month to get rid of the Montego.
