Re: GoPro lays off more than 25% of its staff amidst stiff competition I guess they were too distracted diversifying and skimped on R&D of their core product (the action camera). The GoPro 13 feels dated compared to what DJI and Insta360 is offering, and cost is so much more for what is on offer. Look at the DJI basic kit and compare that to what GoPro is offering - you have to spent quite a lot more for what you get out of the box with DJI.
The only thing GoPro 13 has is the wider range of accessories to choose from, but they are all very expensive and targeted at a very small userbase. I like the simplicity of Qwik app (although it is buggy and unreliable). As for DJI, I sold my gimbal after they removed Mimo app from Playstore (didn't want to install their app directly). Think Lightcut is quite similar to Insta's app - far too many features than I can comprehend. None of these brands (including GoPro) have any official service center in the country. All are based out of Hong Kong, if I'm not wrong; The distributor might help with a replacement at best? I have interacted with Insta360 and GoPro's (global) support - and the difference is night and day. GoPro will go the extra mile while Insta360 is meh (have no clue about DJI).
DJI to GoPro is what BYD is to Tesla. The DJI portfolio should worry every other company in the consumer-creator space. The DJI Mic, Osmo Pocket 3 are all big hits (and I'm not even talking about Drone - there isn't much serious competition in consumer space).
I think GoPro is in trouble and one might find huge discounts on their products going forward.
