Re: RIP Ratan Tata !!

Very sorry to hear. Lots of strength to his family and friends.

I had the pleasure of spending some time with him about ten years ago. He was visiting a friend of mine and the three of us ended up talking aviation for more than an hour. A very knowledgeable true gentleman.

RIP

Re: RIP Ratan Tata !!

My dad has been working for TCS since the past 25 years, and I myself feel like this is a huge loss. The man lived life legend size.

One small thing I know: Street dogs are allowed into TCS offices, as Ratan Tata sir loves dogs. Whenever I went to my dad's office, I used to see a couple of street dogs in the office premises.

RIP Legend. There simply is no one and there will be no one like him.

Re: RIP Ratan Tata !!

End of a legend!

Although we may not have known him on a personal level, Mr. Ratan Tata connected with every Indian on an emotional level. He is one of the handful of a few business elites who is very well respected by all sections of the society not because of his power or money image but because of his aura that he brought to the room wherever he went.

I didn't know him personally but the closest I've got in touch with him was just on an email where I had written to him due to a infamous issue my Tata Safari faced which was frustratingly painful and within a couple of hours I had a call from his personal assistant and a small army of engineers flown all the way from Pune plant just to make the problem go away once and for all! That was his connect with the people.

God bless his soul!

Re: RIP Ratan Tata !!

RIP sir! thanks for everything you did for our country.

My second job was with a Tata Motors subsidiary and worked with the group for close to 4 years. I was lucky to work with or visit many Tata group companies in various parts of India during my tenure there. I was also lucky to visit Lake house in Pune during Zest launch (few other BHPians were also part of the group) and Ratan Tata sir's love for his dogs were pretty evident there.

Re: RIP Ratan Tata !!

This is the third time in my life that I am genuinely sad at the passing of a legend. The first two were Dr A P J Abdul Kalam and Irrfan Khan.
Ratan Tata ji was a “Ratan” in human form for the country. The level of ethics he has taught to the country as an Industrialist is unmatched.
We shall not see his like again.

Re: RIP Ratan Tata !!

A timelessly classy man unfortunately represented lately by massy cars - for older generations, the premium brands he created before cars such as Taj and Titan remain as iconic as him.

While I have interactions with his brands that make my opinion of his professional endeavours less than favourable, my thoughts of his personal stance, beginning with the maxim - all species are equal - that allowed dogs top mantle respect in his work places, make me salute the person he was!

A gentle, old world soul who lived with grace and dignity in a country that drifted far away from deserving the poise he lived with. May there somehow be more inspired by the way he led his life - God speed and a 21 gun salute to the man!

Thank you for the Nano and the Indica, Mr. Tata. You taught us that we can engineer cars to a world-class level.
