Re: What's the best way to get Top News Headlines in 10 minutes in India?

One of my friends has started this. (Nutshell news) It’s similar to Inshorts minus the personalisation. It’s basically news paper on your phone. I rarely check news but whenever I go into this App, I am surprised by some news. It might just be what you are looking for. However, it can be buggy. They haven’t tested the Android one fully. My IPhone works well, or maybe it doesn’t, for a power user

I use the InShorts app. It is a great app that gives you news in 60 words or less. Apart from mainstream news, it also gives you news based on location and your interests. It has a very clean an interface. Even the Ads are not very intrusive and easy on eyes. Do try it.

I have stopped reading news for many years now. It's neither a good source of information, nor a good source of entertainment.

Any news that has an impact on me gets discussed in social media channels like WhatsApp. That filters out most of the nonsense for me.

Re: What's the best way to get Top News Headlines in 10 minutes in India?

Thanks all! Tried out all your suggestions & this is how I get my daily fix now:

- Took TOI+ membership, and now get full access to their daily digital newspaper. Email comes in every morning with the front page, I click on "digital view" and the top headlines are all listed there. Added bonus = there is a "city" section also to tell me all that's happened in Bombay.

- Inshorts is really good . Has become my daily too.

- Have liked The Daily Brief.

- Economic Times daily newsletter which hits my inbox in the evening.

I tried the headlines on Google News, but there was too much information there. Plus, way too many political headlines (I have zero interest in politics).

Live Mint has a good e-paper version too that’s subscription based. As a financial daily, I find LiveMint better than Economic Times for most part - has some great Op Eds too.

Concur with fellow bhpians on Google News. Once customised, it brings in the best news possible from the sources one prefers. 'Headlines' is the goto way to quickly glance over the important pieces.
Google News also brings great opinion articles from various sources.
Had stopped reading TOI, ET and the likes 1.5 decades back. Google News doesn't pop up those sources once hidden or unfollowed.
Mostly Google news feed is crisp. Asian Age, The Hindu, IA, Tribune are mostly the sources i tend to follow. Business news comes clean in Hindu Business Line. Rest all are more or less same.
