Re: Do you have any Team-BHP regrets?

A more personal username. My first car was VW Allstar Vento and hence the username. I have sold the Vento and moved on but the username has stayed.

Re: Do you have any Team-BHP regrets?

My 2 regrets:

- Not joining this forum earlier. Should have joined this forum around 8 years back when I bought my first car.
- Not posting regularly in forum. I spend time reading posts in forum but posting from my end has been sporadic.

Re: Do you have any Team-BHP regrets?

My one and only regret is that, I have been ardent reader of the forum since 2008 and never tried to become a member till 2024. That's whopping 16 years !!
Nevertheless, I have gained humongous knowledge from the forum and has bettered me every other way.

Re: Do you have any Team-BHP regrets?

My 3 regrets:

- Not posting ownership review of 2011 Alto k10 sold in 2018 thinking it to be repetitive information.
- Not posting ownership review of 2018 S-Cross 1.3 with same reason to be repetitive.

- Not able to post "Usership" review of my current work horse in UAE - Renault Duster 2.0 PE 4x4. Although being very distinct, it is a company given vehicle and not sure whether I can do this or not.

I too admit that I have not posted frequently about my Automotive Experiences or Travellogs, though my Travels are all restricted between our Home in Bengaluru, Hometown in Kundapur & Mangalore & occasional Trips to my Wife's Maternal Aunt's House at Uppala, Kasaragod District, Kerala.

Re: Do you have any Team-BHP regrets?

None

Made lot of friends.

When I lost my job, this circle helped me get back on my feet, made me who I am today, gave me the hope to keep hoping, aim higher and paved the way to move to Dubai with family at young age of 43

PS - regret not 'yet' posted a review of a 6.2L V8 sipping on petrol and letting out a big burp every now and then

Re: Do you have any Team-BHP regrets?

Regrets/Wishlist:
  • a constant presence rather than the erratic sine-wave pattern regularity
  • shorter posts
  • lesser edits
  • DIY
The only success I have achieved till date is moving to a desktop only usage pattern(except a 2 day period recently) which has reduced the number of edits.

Despite all my shortcomings I can decisively say that the time I've spent here is definitely worth it.

- Username Rush instead of GTO
I am not going to lie Mr GTO, your username is so iconic that seeing your stats (Posts/Thanked) it made a long time lurker (5 years lurking and a year plus since I joined) like me to actually join the forum and give it a go. Currently in the process of writing a travelogue with a small introduction, hope to release it soon.

Re: Do you have any Team-BHP regrets?

Just one regret:

Username - should've gotten a different one for me. My posts are quite visible and people have reached me on different occasions asking if I was the one posting on Team Bhp

Re: Do you have any Team-BHP regrets?

Two regrets:
1. My username
2. Not buying the Octavia TDI when GTO recommended it to me

I don't know which I regret more.

Re: Do you have any Team-BHP regrets?

My regret is not being able to update my ownership threads as often as I used tom I used to update them monthly. Now it has become twice or thrice a year.

And I haven't even written an ownership thread on one of my cars, even after 2 years since I have gotten it.

Re: Do you have any Team-BHP regrets?

I joined T-BHP way back in 2004, when there were a handful of founding members on board. I even had a stint as a Moderator and Distinguished-BHPian around a decade ago.

What I wish today:

1. I wished I could change my username. Infact, I did manage to get it changed once, but it was a change from lower case to upper case for some letters.

2. I wish I could have spent more time and given more value to Team-BHP as a Distinguished-BHPian and an Ex-moderator. I had a short stint with both the roles, but could not to justice to the roles due to professional commitments and lack of time on the forum.

3. I wish I could have participated in Team-BHP physical meets.

All in all, it has been a satisfactory and smooth (with few ups and downs) ride during the past 15 years on my favorite online Forum.

Re: Do you have any Team-BHP regrets?

I have a couple of regrets and the first is this:

I have felt like 'what I just typed makes no sense', 'not the right thread', 'could've taken a bit more time to make post detailed, well thought-out, etc.' but only by when it's too late.

Second is not joining the forum sooner. I've known this forum for almost a decade now, and have browsed to read reviews and technical stuff. But for awfully long, never bothered to join and participate for some reason. This meant that I had to learn few things the hard way, without even realising that there's an easy way of asking members here for help, suggestions, recommendations, etc. Now, at least once a week I come across a post and think "If only the 18 year old me had read this!".

Re: Do you have any Team-BHP regrets?

My username as I just bought an Aveo and didn't think the user name very through that time (perhaps my way of self-validating to myself that it was a good car which wasn't the case for me shortly after).
