I suppose I am fine with my handle as it has been my go-to when creating gaming profile. Might make something spicy if I get a chance but I am happy status-quo.

I voted “No”. There are no second thoughts to my user name. It came spontaneously and I am glad and no regrets. The handle dictionary meaning is very deep and wish that it truly represents me but unfortunately I am no where near it. In fact, I had already shared my life experiences of quitting my pursuit of enlightenment in many of my posts on this forum.

My handle is my first car (which got me driving and into the forum), so there is some comfort in its permanence. However the way it is spelt gives me 'Gee, What does that mean?' comment from non members. The unnatural spelling also makes me input my own user name wrong (that's right!)

Yes. My preferred nickname was used by myself during an earlier registration attempt that was unsuccessful. Since those accounts weren't purged back then, I couldn't go for a second attempt with that same username.

Voted yes as I think the option to change one's handle should be there, if the technology on the forum supports it (like retroactively changing the handle to reflect the new one across all posts/thanks). While I don't have a need to change my handle (it's the same handle across many of my social media accounts including insta and X), I do see a lot of handles that reference a particular vehicle or emotion and like some of the posts on this thread have already mentioned, that reason may no longer be valid and it would be good to have the flexibility to change the handle when that happens.

Some not expecting to clear the exam and not being serious of the Username. Well I failed my TBHp exam many times, but my username is common across forums so, voted no for Changing it. But I would like to have the option.

Technically, we all have a right to change our real world name (not selected by us) , but largely we make peace with it. My mom almost said no to my father just because of his funny surname; but she and her kids have made peace with it.

So why should it be different for the name that we chose for ourselves

I played Roller Hockey (Hockey with Skates on) my entire childhood until Post Graduation and was fortunate enough to represent my State, Andhra Pradesh for many years.

In fact, I love the sport so much so that I have a "sk8r" tattoo behind my neck, neatly hidden !

I want to change my name ASAP

Back in the day when I first got my broadband connection at home, I was glued to TBHP. My membership requests were repeatedly rejected. I was young and idle so I never stopped putting in requests, most of the times with random usernames as I assumed it wouldn't go anywhere. Until it did..

I am now named after a defunct music channel. I chose this name for fun as I couldn't be arsed to come up for a meaningful name for what I thought would be another failed attempt

Initially I wanted to change since I had some nice handles that I used when I tried to gain entry. Used my name in an attempt thinking I wouldn't lucky, but got the membership approved .

Reason why I wanted to change was that I have a middle name which is most commonly used/known.

But using the real name is better I feel since when other BHPians randomly spot my car, they ask - Arent you BHPian Naveen? Makes it easier to save phone number on the phone as well . Else you would have "Team handle + Real name".
