Netflix comedy series 'Tires' is plain funny and you shouldn't miss it

Tires, currently streaming on Netflix, is a workplace comedy that tells the story of the employees at a Pennsylvania tyre shop. While the plot may sound straightforward, their daily lives at the shop are anything but.

Steve Gerben plays the role of Will, the owner's son. He has been tasked to revive the failing repair shop and is desperately trying to impress his father.

Shane, played by Shane Gillis, is portrayed as a lazy employee who keeps bullying and offending Will in the most hilarious ways possible. The chemistry between these two characters is at the core of the show.

The cast also features Andrew Schulz, Cal, the mechanic, played by Chris O'Connor and Kilah Fox, who plays the role of Kilah, the receptionist. Stavros Halkias plays Dave, the supervisor.

'Tires' has been compared with Seinfeld, as it focuses on the mundane aspects of everyday life and gives it a funny twist.

After reading the OP, I started this today. Half way through the first episode, I felt it was a bit too vulgar to watch with people around me. I will give it another try later week and see if it improves.

I thought it was just me. I too tried to watch the series and half way through the 1st episode I gave up. It was just too much over the top and too boring.

In contrast "The Crew" which also lasted only 1 season was much more funny and enjoyable.

I have already cancelled my Prime (I have gone back to shopping from the mall and stores nearby, I find that much more enjoyable) and Disney+ subscription. I see Netflix going that route too of producing too many content with "the message". May be a few more months and I will cancel that too.

Luckily here in Australia there are lot more free to air channels with some good content and Google movies also usually has all the newly launched movies and most of the series.

Hard to understand why some articles online are comparing this show to Seinfeld. The comparison ends at 'focusing on the mundane'. This show is nowhere near Seinfeld, or several other sitcoms. As far as sitcoms go, it's not even very good. Immediately went to watch it after reading about the Seinfeld comparo, couldn't even finish one episode. Totally avoidable, IMHO.

Seinfeld is the gold standard in terms of writing and comedic brilliance. Barring Seinfeld himself, the rest of the cast was impeccable in their acting.
And Seinfeld has been copied amply by Friends and How I met Your Mother.

Had it been even in the same zip code as Seinfeld it would have blown up social media, which it hasn't by a light year.

Heh heh someone knew that by comparing it with Seinfeld the show would at least get viewers to try it out

Seinfeld was a gem of a show and the characters really pulled it off. I for one can't Jerry's voice but yet the show had me hooked. Kramer was the man

Friends really did manage to plug in the void left by Seinfeld for the next generation and How i met your mother tried to do something similar for the generation post friends.

Oh well, to each his own but wondering why this can't be discussed in the TV Series thread.
