The Euro Cup 2024 is just about to kick off, which sees Germany as hosts. Who is your prediction to lift the cup this time?



I see a resurgence in Germany and feel this may be their year, looking forward to your views.

Germany, Spain, Portugal and France are my semi finalists and it would be a toss up between Germany and France I think, for the eventual winners. France seems to be the team to beat in this Euro.

My bet for the last 4 are England, France, Belgium and Spain. I think England have a great chance of winning this Euro cup as they have always been the underdogs and this time they have a good line up. If not England then it will France.

There is hardly any buzz for Euro this time. It may be because of T20 Cricket World cup.

And is Sony LIV the only option to watch Euro 2024 from India?

I wish Germany bounces back from their WC low and wins the cup. Nice to see them win the first match against Scotland.

And Slovakia played the match of their lives to put it past Belgium. Two disallowed goals by Lukaku states the way Belgium managed to play. Brilliant defending and good mid field play by Slovakia through out the match. Made for a wonderful viewing. Let’s see how France starts off now.

A sensational and brilliant match between Turkey and Georgia. Played at a furious pace and the match can be termed as the match of the tournament till tonight. Two absolutely stunning goals from Turkey and Georgia almost winning the match on their first appearance at the Euros. Georgia gave everything to the match and the scorecard will never tell the real story. What a game of football ..absolutely amazing.

Italy doing Italy-like things, just enough to get through to the next round and before you know it, Euro winners! Ah, just wistful thinking (Italy are my next favorite team, after Argentina), but what a goal from Zaccagni!

Felt for Croatia last night, despite being the better team and with seconds to go, they were knocked out. That the match could be the end of Luca Modric’s glorious international career is indeed sad and perhaps the most heartbreaking. Modric has been the star who almost single handedly has been carrying the team for so long that it would be quite surreal if he decides to hang his boots. His post match interaction with an Italian journalist is what makes this sport beautiful.

This present Italian team just scraped through and I will not be surprised if they are eliminated in the next round itself. Not too much depth and it was a wonder goal that saved them from the blushes !

Looking forward to tonight’s matches. Just as Italy is your second favourite after Argentina, it is Holland for me.

Some footballers are just class apart both on and off the pitch. Reminds me of the recent controversial interview where Mbappe answered that the Euro Cup is complicated to win than the World Cup.



The little boy from Rosario (Messi ) and Modric answered it brilliantly when asked about Mbappe’s comments.





OT: It was Messi’s birthday yesterday, and I was reminiscing the Fifa World Cup 2022 and Peter Drury’s wonderful commentary. I still get goosebumps and tears whenever I watch it! Georgia has been a revelation in this Euro Cup. The way they have played fearlessly is a lesson of true grit. Their first was special and the way they defeated Portugal in the last league match yesterday will be remembered for long. The entire team played with a purpose and it was so heartwarming to see what they achieved in their first attempt. I hope Georgia gets past the round of sixteen too.

Sharing a beautiful clip here which shows how Kvaratskhelia showed his class after the match ended. Apparently, Cristiano Ronaldo had visited Georgia in 2013 and inaugurated a football academy where Kvaratskhelia was also registered as a student and hence his reaction.
