Rishabh's audacious reverse lap six was the highlight of the match. This New York pitch has really inconsistent bounce, and to make matters even worse the ball is rising steeply more often than keeping low. Almost all batters took body blows today, Rohit played well but was retired hurt after copping one on his arm. Hope he is good to go on Sunday.

Harry Tector of Ireland got it worst. Poor guy kept getting hit on his fingers off length balls that bounced steeply until he was finally done by a Bumrah snorter that ricocheted off his finger onto his helmet, lobbing an easy catch to Kohli! Playing 150+ deliveries from Haris Rauf & Co in similar conditions on Sunday will be challenging. But our top 3 are test level batters, so they are more than up for it. Wouldn't mind replacing Dube with Jaiswal to make it proper batter top 4!

Isn't needing batsman with solid technique and temperament good for the game overall? In the IPL thread many of us were moaning about how easy it was for batsmen to rain havoc on the bowlers

Outfield should let the ball run smooth though. Let's see how the days unfold.

What i meant was that sloggers won't have fun on this pitch. As per reports center pitch will be used for India vs Pak and not this one. Let's see if it's any better. Outfield can't be helped as changes can't be made now. We have a better bowling attack than Pakistan and our batters had some practice on this surface so I am quite positive about Sunday. I think India will play same team.

Great planning by USA sending harmeet who is a lefty and runs really fast.
Jones was outstanding whole game. What a player.

And the first upset has arrived, and against who else, well no points for guessing. Great game by USA and that is why the best place to introduce new countries to the game is T20 format. While it is tough for them to sustain momentum and pressure in a 50 over game due to lack of experience, they can still execute plans in shorter format.

I think once the Super Eight starts from June 19th, the tournament will pick up. That is if strong teams get through the first stage. Currently, it looks like that Pak will have a difficult time after that first match shocker.

There is a fitness test. Azam Khan failed that miserably. Also, Babar skipped it.

That said, Azam Khan still has a LOT of backing from ex-cricketers since (they say) there aren't many other players to take his place. Apparently, Azam Khan has played pretty well in PSL and does well against spinners.

That said, I'm pretty baffled that Pak cricket can't find one fit player to replace him. Considering how they fielded the entire match and especially in the super over, they definitely should focus on team fitness.

Both Pakistani army and Pakistani cricket team are just memes at this point.

Pakistan army is used as security guards by Qatar.

Pakistani bowlers used to do heavy ball tempering in 90s hence they used to get lot of reverse swing. Due to many cameras watching all their moves from 2000s, they lost "their" art of reverse swing in last 20 years.

Interestingly, one of their bowlers allegedly got caught in ball tampering against USA.
