Best Places to Visit in India

Hi Folks. I love India. And on India's Sixtieth Independence Day, I have to tell you that I love to travel in this great country whenever I get time.

So far I have been to Bangalore, Chennai, Kerala, Goa, Mumbai, Dalhousie, Mussoorie, Nainital, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Baroda, Bhopal, Kanyakumari, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Khajjiar, Kullu, Manali, Chamba, Uttaranchal and many other places.

I found Manali and Kanyakumari to be extremely beautiful with its scenic locations and places to go. Manali looks like India's Switzerland (Khajjiar is officially India's Switzerland) and Kanyakumari scenic locations and beaches do not look like places from India at all. Other places in India also have their own charm inspite of being backward. I think Govt should promote beautiful places and make them more beautiful and cleaner for tourists to visit them often.

Please share your views on the best places to visit in India and why do you like to visit that place again and again for the benefit of team bhp members so that they can plan the next holiday based on your advices. Also post pics if possible.

Try Rameshwaram, Munnar, Kodaikanal, Wayanad, Kemmangundi, Kudhremukh, Jog Falls too. Lovely places. I am yet to visit Wayanad though.

You left out Pondicherry. It has its own charm. Pristine beaches once you get out of the Chennai side. You should go to the cuddalore side.

Then there is Tirunelveli..What a place. It is surrounded by scenic locations. You got to see it to belive it.

And finally Bandipur.

And If anyone wants to see pure beauty, go towards North east.
Arunachal is a good and cheap place to visit. Bomdilla,Tenga Valley & Tawang and few places which could be visited in summers.
