Re: Why does singer Taylor Swift have such a massive fanbase?

I've been hearing about her since around 2009. Initially I've never really been into her songs, so I never paid her any attention.

During the COVID-19 lockdown periods, I stumbled on ‘tis the damn season on Spotify and loved it! Then I picked another random song of hers — August — and loved it!

Whenever a new album comes out for any artist, I normally usually like 1 song in it and dislike the rest. When Midnights came out in 2022, it was the first time that I liked every song in an entire album!

Here are 10 of my relatively recent favorite songs of her in random order (album name after hyphen):
  1. August — Folklore
  2. 'Tis The Damn Season — Evermore
  3. Seven — Folklore
  4. Karma — Midnights
  5. The Great War — Midnights
  6. Death by a Thousand Cuts — Lover
  7. Invisible String — Folklore
  8. Bejeweled — Midnights
  9. Lover — Lover
  10. Anti-Hero — Midnights
As evident from the above, it's these 4 albums that I particularly like — Lover, Folklore, Evermore, and Midnights. Of course there are many more songs of her that I love. It was difficult for me to even narrow down these 10 songs.

At the end of last year, according to Spotify I listened to Taylor Swift the most, much to my own surprise.

As to your question of why she has such a huge fanbase, I don't know! Nor am I able to explicitly state what exactly is it about her songs that I love.

PS: try listening to Midnights while cruising on the highway at night.

Am sure by now, you would have got some understanding of the craze from our fellow members

Tried searching on the forum; there were only a couple of posts of dads going to the recent TS movie, accompanying their daughters. JoshMachine's excellent post on the TS movie does give a decent insight.

So, people with the know-how, can you please share to expand?
To "expand" more, my Amazon Music playlist home page currently looks like this:
