Its kind of you to notice the importance of ‘dress’ and say so. My Dad is one person who almost never steps out of the house without taking the trouble to dress properly. He’s always done that and I guess I just like to follow his good example. I firmly believe that it is important to dress properly in general and there is also a certain pleasure in wearing appropriate clothing for these kinds of ‘drive’ occasions, depending of course on where one is heading to. (One will of course be in T Shirt and Shorts if one is heading to the Beach, for example, irrespective of which car one is taking to get there!)
If and when my wife and I or my Dad and I travel out of the country and rent a nice car, it makes a difference to the overall sense of well being and self esteem too, when we wear the appropriate clothing, play the right music and all.
Like chocolate, these small things get the endorphins and serotonin moving, which in turn increases the ‘happiness quotient.’
Its really all about the ‘ambience’ and creating great memories of enjoyable occasions. Everything in life (if you so choose) can be turned into an occasion to enjoy! It is easy nowadays with superb camera phones and streaming music and the sheer abundance of opportunities and all that. But one still needs the inclination to make the effort.
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.
That is to me, my ‘go to’ film, to get one’s priorities straight.
