Re: Where do you "park" your smartphone while driving?

Honda City designers have cleverly designed the space to keep your phones. In today's time, it is impossible to find an individual without a Smartphone and that is why it is very necessary to have a designated space to keep your Phones.

There are primarily three designated spaces.
The first space is just besides the handbrake lever. But it is a bit gimmicky, it took me 2 months to discover this designated space. Because the space blends with the interiors so much that it doesn't stand out for any specific use. This space wasn't mentioned by the SA.
There are two phone holder spaces on each side of the lever. It holds my 13 Pro Max and Samsung 13 Ultra perfectly and doesn't make any rattling sounds at all. The phone stays firm and is easy to access to check a quick message and place it back.

There is also another space to keep your phone and it is just besides the USB Port. The phone doesn't slide off but it makes a little rattling when taking sharp turns.

Re: Where do you "park" your smartphone while driving?

Two positions in the Jeep Compass :

1) when the Phone does not need to be charged ( most regular use)
The blue arrow indicated where the primary iPhone ( used to take the pic ) is 'parked'.

2) When the iPhone battery is really low and the road is somewhat smooth ( Kept on the wireless charger pad)

Re: Where do you "park" your smartphone while driving?

I am sure mine will be the "jugadu" implementation here.

I have a 2012 Etios Liva, which is as barebones as it can get.
I am not in favour of windshield mounted mobile holders, and I couldn't find one which I liked online. So decided to make one.

I have a showroom fitted 1-DIN music player which I no longer use and the slot below is free. So using a small piece of plywood, couple of magnetic holders, mobile case and metal plate I set about to make my own mobile parking place.

Below pics show how it looks. Now I have my own "Android Auto".

Not sure if you looked at this, but you have tried CD tray mounts? My linea t-jet has no space to keep the phone other than in the door side panel. So I use a CD Tray mount from Mountek and it's been pretty good over the past many years

I recall having checked that out, but it makes the phone jut out blocking the speedo and warning lights. That's why I didn't consider it. It's more suited to cars having the dials at the conventional position.

This is how my phone is parked.
Car: MS Baleno 2018
Connectivity option: wired

I've earlier tried to place the phone inside the glovebox, but the phone disconnects a lot during bumps; hence, this position is preferred. Also, I can quickly disconnect and reconnect whenever Android Auto stops responding.

Re: Where do you "park" your smartphone while driving?

Wireless charging pad on the i20.
Something I didn’t think through was that I don’t have wireless CarPlay on this ICE and thus, I need to keep the phone and ICE system connected at all times. Because of this, I also keep the wireless charging pad disabled and any other phones that need to be kept also go there :(

Same as vivek2652’s placement on my parents’ Baleno. Its a nice little space to keep your phone at an angle (and keys and wallet) and connected to the ICE system. Although this one has a wireless CarPlay system on the 9inch android system that we put outside.
