I also have an OCD for keeping my phone charged and my phone is always connected to charging cable in both my cars.
I think its not good for the battery to be always be connected to the charger. Yes modern technology disconnects the charging when its fully charged during overnight charges but an unfortunate aftereffect is the bulge it creates in the battery and battery life considerably decreases after that. Happened in my powerbank and erstwhile POCO F1 after around 3-4 years of use, now i have a fully charged powerbank and a M51, iPhone 13 that has both set to its optimized charge cycle to improve battery life.

Re: Where do you "park" your smartphone while driving?

I think best allocation for placing phone among the current options is in Nexon, next to driver armrest in a neat and compact way. It's another issue that the cupholders and the storage beneath it are nearly useless

Re: Where do you "park" your smartphone while driving?

The 2022 Brezza comes with a Wireless charging and Wireless AA/ACP. So, the phone safely stays in the wireless charging dock. It is big enough to hold up to three phones one over another.

I still have a 0.5m USB A to lightning cable attached to the charger though since Wireless charging on Apple phones is useless.

I agree. That space in the Brezza is decently designed, with some rubber treads to keep the phone in place.

My phone does not have wireless charging, so I've switched that off and use a tiny USB type-B to type-C cable to charge the phone.

Attaching the photo from the official review, which is way clearer than whatever potato photo my phone can take.

Re: Where do you "park" your smartphone while driving?

My Honda City 5th gen has a nifty feature - slots near the center armrest to keep the phone. So beautifully thought out. Never rattles, and fits all phones. Prior to this, I was used to place the phone in a holder attached to windscreen. Or may be just place it in my lap if directions are not required.

I almost never use cup holders to keep coffee or cold drinks, I always stop and take break for such things. Also it can spoil your interiors if you spill something and becomes sticky which I really hate.

So I always use cup holders to place my mobile vertically, it's easy to pick up as well

Hi, in my Safari the phone is parked on the wireless charger whereas in the Xcent, Hyundai has been kind enough to provide space for the phone next to the USB port.

Re: Where do you "park" your smartphone while driving?

In my Ecosport, I keep the phone in the cup holders next to the hand brake. Charging, if required, is via the 12V socket next to the gear lever.

The phone remains connected to the Media Centre via Bluetooth. That takes care of the phone calls. As far as navigation is concerned, I keep the Google Map running with alerts ON and correlate with the Ford Sync map on the display. Works for me.

The only downside is while the Google Map alerts are playing, the audio source needs to be selected to Bluetooth, so that turns off the radio.
Generally I don't need to use the navigation within the city, so even that is not a problem.

In my TUV3OO, I use two phones - one for map, another for TPMS. Charging from the 2nd 12V socket near the gear lever.

Re: Where do you "park" your smartphone while driving?

In Renault Duster, there is an open compartment on top of the dashboard to keep the phone, I placed a non slip mat over there as an extra safety measure. I installed Woodman Xtreme 4.0 with sim card facility in my car and although it has wireless android and apple connectivity, I never really had to use them as the android tablet OS system along with 4g sim was enough for any daily use or highway tours.

Re: Where do you "park" your smartphone while driving?

Nexon variants without the touchscreen display got many options to keep your mobile phone(s).

I use this space as my false head unit. Phone won't fall even if you jump a medium hump.

Even though it is a little bit difficult to plug in the USB, you can use this particular area to keep your mobile phones in a stacked way. Easily two or three mobile phones can be placed there.

Agree. This is the best space in my nexon to keep the phone. I also have the windscreen mounted RAM

Re: Where do you "park" your smartphone while driving?

I use these pockets on my cars, I got them from Maruti for ₹130 or ₹150 each. I'm not sure on the price. I had to re-enforce the adhesive by using some more double sided (ivory) tape and it easily holds the weight of a general smartphone.

Re: Where do you "park" your smartphone while driving?

We have some space below the handbrake lever, just allowing the phone to sweep in. Especially when connected to the ICE for Android Auto/Apple Carplay. The space is fine for something like an iPhone 6s, but anything bigger would lift up. Been using this location ever since the car got update for Android Auto.

Quite ergonomic for cable management too. Just connect it to the USB port below the AC controls, make two loops, and connect it the device.

The space below handbrake:

Re: Where do you "park" your smartphone while driving?

While driving the Brezza, my phone would be connected for Android Auto and I used to keep it infront of the gear lever. But at times, it would create issues while changing gears. So I purchased a Hiker magnet and fixed it next to headunit. That has solved my problem.

The plate is fixed to back of phone case using a 3M sticker that came with the plate.

Fixed this magnet to the dashboard.

This is how the phone is kept now.
