An Indian toy manufacturer Centy Toys is silently launching great Indian automotive scale models at affordable price point. These 'toys' are made in plastic but are very high quality. They had launched the tata 407 scale model, this was approximately 1:43 in scale, recently got a sweet prelaunch box of Padmini with the name Queen 70s. Found it really well made and of a good quality. Feels good to see such nostalgic car models as toys being bought back, and the cherry on the cake is that it is made in India.

The sky blue Padmini looks cool.





Those fins on the C pillar are so neat.



That dashboard right from the glovebox lid, the ashtray, steering, speedometer console to the rack below the dash board, all look so perfect, even the seat has the ribbed profile.



The details on the interior and exterior are surprisingly good.













Got this Mumbai taxi version of the Fiat too.




That meter is the cutest thing.



This is the Tata 407, very well detailed for a 1:43 scale










They have also launched the Ford Endeavor based pickup at 1:36 scale

Ribbed loading bay and tow hook, good attention to detail.




Look at those interiors for a plastic toy, its amazing.



Overall it feels like a good stride by an Indian manufacturer to produce good quality scale model toys. We need more such products which can cater to not only Indian but also Global collectors.

Hi, this product should be launched for retail purchase shortly, maybe in a couple of months, right now it was provided by the manufacturer as a Pre-Launch to a few scale model collector members of a FB hobby group called Centy Model-Toys Collectors.

This sky blue Padmini is the first collectible from Centy. I hope they license more classic cars, and not just the ones that were sold in India.

Centy makes plastic versions of Indian cars of acceptable quality, IMHO. As a Mahindra Scorpio fan, I had 4 Scorpios, one in black, red, silver and in white - all from Centy. I had good fun modifying them too.

Wonderful writeup and detailed review of the Padmini scale models @ArTigor.
I also received the same pre launch exclusive scale models of Premier Padmini. The models are very well detailed and are of really good quality. Centy Toys as an indian scale model manufacturer has really upped the game over the last few years. Lets hope they launch more Indian scale car models in future.

Wow, Centy Toys has truly done justice to the car!

I loved (and still do love) their products! I had a whole collection of almost every toy they've made (including some rare ones, I remember having a Palio in my collection). I wish they'd bring their relatively older models like the Palio and the Indica back. I still have some of their cars - a Ritz, a Polo, a Dzire, an i10... They have covered pretty much the entire Indian car market over the years.

As far as I am aware, you can still buy a lot of their models on Amazon, Flipkart and the like. They're a must buy (well, at least one) if you're a car enthusiast! Sure, they're plastic but the detailing on them is quite neat.

Very good to see Centy making great progress with their toys lineup.

Hate to say it but the growth of Centy Toys brand over the last 2-3 years was because of blocking of Hot Wheels import and reduced cheap Chinese made cars during the same period. I had to resort to buying lower quality Centy plastic cars for my Hot Wheels fanatic son first but the quality kept on improving month over month.

Sometimes the local manufacturers needs a chance and investment help (believe Centy got PLI incentives) to even the field with the much well established giants and cheap imports. Good to see a competitor.

A great thread depicting a much desired move by M/s Centy Toys to make available such scale models. Some of these are the once most common motor vehicles seen on our streets. Most of such vehicles are waning in numbers and hence for car lovers, having such wheels in our drawing rooms makes sense. The prices have been kept very affordable for one and all to become owners of the 1:43 scale models.

Comparing these with the Morris Oxford Series III (Ambassador's original British name) available through EBay, a 1:43 scale Spa Croft model is listed for $452.99.

And these Morris Oxford Series III, 1:76 Diecast models as shown below retail for £6.49 GBP. This one's refinement, fit and finish is much more awful.

Upon comparing these with the M/s Centy Toys launched Ambassador scale models, these shown above cost a bomb. The !:76 scale models cost £6.49 GBP and the 1:43 scale models cost $452.99.

Comparing the fit and finish, the imports too lack finesse but cost a bomb. If only M/s Centy Toys makes available such scale models with a much elaborate attention to the details and refinement, also charging a premium these will be much more VFM compared to the ones priced in US $ and GBP (£) shown above.

And given the fact that none of these scale models come under the purview of either Mr Gadkari or the Transport and Highways Ministry or the respective RTO's, these can neither be scrapped through some dreaded notification, nor impounded by the Delhi and NCR Transport Department.
