You are spot on. Yes, Season 5 dropped on Netflix just a few weeks ago. It was as riveting as the previous seasons.

I see that S6 has premiered on April 18th in US but, is on AMC.

Need to figure out how to see it soon. I just cannot wait for it to be dropped on Netflix as this will be finale before it converges to Breaking Bad.

S6 will show up in Netflix after AMC has cashed out. S5 came to Netflix in rest of the world long ago and US just got it. that is exactly how long it will take for S6 to show up in Netflix.

you can see it on AMC+ though. it's a streaming service from AMC.

Yup. I'm aware. I am not going to subscribe to another OTT just to watch one series. There is plenty of content available on the multiple that I already subscribed and hope they drop it on Netflix sooner than later.

Typical scene of masala-fying the original story by news agencies. The first 1.5 mins of the video is correctly stating the reasons given by Netflix to its investors reported below (source: Guardian), but then the video goes into 'analysis' mode and adding the masala to different points.

Quote:
The company blamed the drop on a number of factors, including its huge size, increased competition, the economy, the war in Ukraine, slowing rollout of broadband, and the large number of people who share their Netflix accounts with non-paying households. It also said the decision to close up shop in Russia cost the company 700,000 new additions.
While the decline is correctly identified as the first time for Netflix, it is worthwhile looking at the larger picture - the decline brought Netflix’s paid global subscriber base to 221.6 million, down from 221.8 million in the prior quarter. The company still made $1.6bn in profit over the quarter on a base of $7.8bn in sales.

Now the drop of 200k subscribers doesn't look that alarming, no?

The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)-initiald.jpg

Have to mention InitialD manga series, available on HULU. This is the series that brought heel-toe shifting to the telly. The series is about downhill racing where its the driver and not the drive that wins races. What I really liked about the series is the "gyan" that the characters disseminate every now and then regarding the cars and driving techniques

Watch it if you can. We are never too old to watch a good car series, no matter what form it is in.

By the way, TeamBHP had its own thread dedicated to it long ago.
InitialD

Good time to be a fan of business shows! After the excellent series on Uber & Theranos, I dived into WeCrashed on Apple TV+. Definitely worth one watch and will give it a 3.75 / 5 star rating, but it's not a 5 / 5 like the other two. The main character has overacted a bit, while the story itself is not as interesting.

My first experience with Apple TV and I must say, it sucks! Using the app on my Firestick and it's so buggy & slow.

Re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

Been almost binge-watching Gullak (season 1 to 3), everyday post dinner. What a lovely series, especially for those of us, 90s (or earlier) kids. Just as nice and heartwarming as the other TVF original, Yeh Meri Family.

Strange. I'm using the app on my two year old Firestick 4K without any issues. Try uninstall and re-install?

Also, watch out for season 2 of Tehran, releasing in a couple of weeks. Do watch Season 1 if you haven't already. It is based on the Iran - Israel conflict.

Pls be assured, I don't follow all these things keen, but once I while some news pops up (thanks to AI+ML) & if at all its interesting, I visit some reliable sources to verify the source of truth, other than that, I know nothing.

But yes, Gravitas is kind of old news is what I found too. Thanks to your reply otherwise I wouldn't have searched for this news posted in Jan 2022

Oh I wasn't blaming you. I meant the news agencies (both the ones you shared and the one I shared) that are blowing it up. Of course the competition is growing and yes, there will be stagnation. But its early days to cry wolf (as these agencies are doing).

Anyway it's good for us (consumers) - more competition = lesser prices and/or more content (not that we are lacking any currently)

Re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

Gullak Season 3 playing on SonyLiv is just as heartwarming as the other two seasons. Such honesty in the storytelling and the acting is at a premium these days. I have been a long time admirer of Jameel Khan- right from the days when he played a bumbling agent in the movie- Asambhav with Arjun Rampal. This series gave him ample scope to show us his acting chops. I hope we get to see the next season as well, the makers must be congratulated for the series.

Rating: 4.5/5

Mai playing on Netflix is just an extended copy of the movie MOM which starred Sridevi as the main protagonist with some added elements thrown in. The series is way to long for comfort, could have easily been shortened. All the actors have played their roles well and I specially was glad to see Prashant Narayanan getting something to play. He is too good an actor to be kept out for long. Too many loose ends in the story and is way too convenient writing as well. Another season is surely underway.

Rating: 2.5/5

Just started watching Guilty Minds playing on Amazon. The court room drama with separate stories is looking good until now with fantastic portrayal of Indian courts and its functioning. Good set of actors, specially good to see the wonderful Benjamin Gilani after long. Real life incidents have been taken and woven into the narrative, promising enough to continue and I am into the third episode now.

Just finished ‘The Last Kingdom’ on Netflix. 5 seasons. Pretty good watch. First 3 seasons were great but like any good show the last 2 went downhill to some extent. Never the less kept mr engaged for last 3 weeks

Rating: 4/5

Changing the rating to 5 / 5 stars. From episode 3 and up, WeCrashed gets really, really interesting with some great performances (lead actor also improves). You'll be hooked to it by the end of episode 3.

A+ watch if you are into business shows.

Re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

Watched London Files on Voot streaming and liked it. This is one of those series which shows Arjun Rampal in a human role and vulnerable instead of being a superhuman. It also shows the current instability of society and gullability of people who are easily instigated.
Overall a 4.5/5 from my side for this series - there are only 6 episodes of 40 min, so quite easy to finish on one day!
