Absolutely true about Mark Zuckerberg. I wonder what's happening with him right now. He probably hopes he could ask the govt for a way out. Because eventually the govt. will sue him for not taking preventive measures, or the shareholders will sue him if he does and tanks the growth.

This one is a must watch for everyone.

On my friend's recommendation started on 'The Americans'. Hooked with S01E01 itself. A spy drama involving a KGB couple living as a sleeper cell in the US in the eighties. In the US it is on Prime, but here in India I found it on Hotstar. Give it a spin.

Guys, am getting hooked onto 'Animal Kingdom' on Netflix. Just 4 episodes in, but quite addicted already. It starts off well and I hope it doesn't fizzle out later.

Very interesting story about a young boy who lives with his grand-mother & uncles after his mom passes away from drug overdose. They're a hardcore crime family.

Will recommend for the unique storyline. Not family friendly though.

I started watching Scam 1992, it is slow but what really got on to my nerves is the period incorrectness of vehicles. Tempo Traveller in early 1980s, Eeco in 1990s, not done.

Binge watched The Crown - Season 4.

This season focusses the coming of age of Prince Charles's role in the Monarchy, the Charles - Diana marriage and Mrs. Thatcher's time as PM. As with the earlier seasons, this one absolutely didn't disappoint and what a splendid role each actor has done.

5/5

Criminal UK (Season 1, 2) : 4 / 5

Simple, straightforward whodunnit series of police cases being handled by Scotland Yard - each one being a different problem statement. A limited setup of 2 rooms and a corridor in a floor of a building that serves as the only “location” of the entire series makes it even better!

7 episodes spread across 2 seasons - this is a good one day watch at most. Worth the watch!

Same is available for other European countries with English voice over and different plot but same sets. Excellent series I would say.

I quite enjoyed Season 4 of The Crown. I suppose being able to relate to the period, and people being portrayed made this season much more enjoyable for me.

I have been told the Germany series is as good or better than the UK one, but the French and Spain series could be ignored. Feedback comes from a reference who's opinions generally I agree with, so probably that's the next one on my weekend watch list.

One of my favourite time pass series. Gets better with each season. Guess the next one was supposed to come this year but may have been delayed due to covid.

Supernatural finale was a little unexpected. The way it was wrapped up didn't go well with fans. As per producers they couldn't manage the intended star cast due to covid.

Absolutely brilliant mini-series. Anya Taylor-Joy as Beth Harmon is a joy to watch; her intimidating look for most opponent and the flustered look when cornered are very believable. All other actors do a commendable job, but I was particularly impressed by Marcin Dorocinski who played Vasily Borgov. A must watch for any one with even a slight interest in chess, a good watch for others too.

Now for some trivia that might be interesting for other:
  • Former world champion Garry Kasparov and chess coach Bruce Pandolfini acted as consultants; the latter was a consultant for the original book also on which this series is based
  • All games showed in the series are real game positions and all the actors learned the moves even for the rapid chess
  • The final match until adjournment was an exact copy of Ivanchuk vs Wolff from 1993 Biel Interzonal; the actual match ended in a draw.

Re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

So Delhi Crime has been awarded the International Emmy 2020 award for best drama series. Haven't been able to see it yet, missed out on the bhpian reviews such as below. Good to see Indian shows increasingly getting global recognition. Hope we see more such situations of Indian series winning global awards.

This is a very good series and highly recommended, which seems to have got lost in the hype of stuff like Mirzapur. Some of the scenes or dialogues will make you feel like throwing up with disgust. Would rate it a solid 8/10

Thanks for sharing these details.
Though I am not an expert by any means, having played chess quite a lot in school/college days I could see that the moves were all authentic (at least whatever I could understand). I just imagine the amount of effort and practice the actors would have put in to get it right and the attention to detail of the director.

After a long time, Netflix has really delivered an outstanding series, one which is bound to blow you away. The lead actress has literally lived the character and the supporting cast is brilliant as well. Also, the music and the art direction deserves a lot praise. A perfect 10/10 from me, after a long long time. (last ones were Chernobyl and Succession in Hotstar/HBO)

Mirzapur 2- was eagerly waiting for this one. The 1st one was really amazing - raw, edgy, unpredictable. The 2nd one is a complete waste of time. The entire Bihar episode looks to be forced into the narrative and the climax is such a terrible letdown. Only saving grace in Munnabhai and Kaleen bhai, to an extent. Divyendu is a tremendous actor, I still remember his awesome performance as Liquid in Pyar ka punchnama. I don't feel excited for Season 3 at all. Rating - 5/10

Started watching Crown.. a bit on the slower side but pretty good so far. It seems the makers have spent a lot in giving the series a grand look, which was needed for a Royal family based story.

Thanks for this recommendation and agree with the 4/5 rating. I was looking for something that is low time investment but still good and Criminal UK ticked all the boxes. Good acting and screenplay
