Just read Rakesh Jhunjhunwala has passed away in rediff. Is this true? Its beyond shocking just after Akasa air took the skies. RIP.

Rakesh Jhunjhunwala must be remembered for his strong commitment to his investment ideas, self-belief & passionate optimism in India's growth story.

His latest entry as promotors of Akasa Airlines goes on to show his trademark strategy "invest right & sit tight", despite against all odds.

Although, It surprises many traditional investors because Indian Air Aviation sector is still reeling under the high fuel cost, negligible profit margin and pandemic after-shocks.

Obviously, he has earned billions of rupee for his self-belief and earned the iconic "Big-Bull" image among equity investors.

His portfolio (Titan, VIP industries, Lupin, Tata Motors etc.) has been quite popular in investors, fund managers and even in business news anchors. It is also followed & tracked as benchmark for returns and enjoys as cult status of Jhunjhunwala's stocks.

Mr Rakesh Jhunjhunwala was the heart and soul of our equity markets. His thorough knowledge about working of the bourses and his growing wealth through shrewd buying and selling of shares and stocks at the most opportune moments after an excellent home-work, helped multiply his wealth.

He had quite a clean image despite his total declared wealth that was Rs 48,000 crores. Some accusations of insider trading were made on him, but his teflon coating saw that nothing stuck. Overall, he was very well respected and looked upon as a role model by many.

His death has created a void and our bourses shall forever miss him and so will his admirers.

At 62 he wasn’t that old. His Akasa Airline just took off a week before his demise. His interviews were fun to watch, was a strong believer of India’s growth story.

A peek at the cars the multi billionaire owned include a Mercedes Maybach S 600 (his favourite), an Audi Q 7 and a BMW X 5 as listed commonly on both these links. It shows that he was fond of German engineering.
