Liked the dialogues, typical one liners I could relate to (having used quite a few during college and school )

Paresh Rawal is good as usual.

All in all an entertaining movie. A good one time watch.

Edit : 2.5/5 not 3.5 (typo )

- the attention to characters and locations is top class and you can connect to the characters immediately - more so if you are from the north.

Abhay Deol is cool - playing Lucky with a calm charisma - rest of the cast is seasoned and perform as per expectations. For me the scene stealer was the young sardar who played Lucky in his younger days - superb performance.

Watch it if you have nothing to do.

Verdict 2.5/5 - Good but not anywhere near great.
On the spot with the review as usual NC. I just noticed I've made a typo on the rating , 2.5/5 it should be.

Saw these movies in the past week

Body of Lies
Very nice movie. DiCaprio and Crowe were both great. Good storyline about jihadists and how CIA makes these people come to them and then gets almost hammered. Recommended.
4/5

Madagascar 2
Animated movie. Good timepass. The kids in the hall were loving it..and so was the kid in me!
3/5

Oye Lucky Lucky Oye
The role really suits Abhay Deol. The one liners and the way he nicks stuff is completely hillarious. His side kick is also really funny..looks like the character from the cult movie Cheech and Chong!
3.5/5

Dostana
Finally saw it but did not live upto the hype. Its not that special..storyline is lifted from the movie Chuck and Larry. Two guys "pretending" to be Gay to get their life sorted. Just a one time watch according to me.
3/5

Khosla ka Ghosla
One of my eternal favourites! Saw it again! Couldnt stop laughing..Chiraunjilal ahoy!!
5/5

And a very old man had seen it at exactly the same stage.

Remade in Hindi as Salaam Namaste.
*Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta.

The movie had a couple of nice songs and a snazzy looking car.
That is about it.

Got around to watching Wall-E again.

Hats off to the guy who thought about such a story. The small nuances and jokes are superb. The way it says Eeevaaaaaa is so nice.

Dil Kabaddi

2 couples and how infidelity affects them personally. Irfan & Soha are one couple while Rahul Bose and Konkana play the other couple. Rahul Khanna and a new girl are in the mix too.

All 4 leads have done a very good job - with Konkana and Irfan being the stand out performers. Soha surprised me with a very strong performance and Rahul Bose has done these kind of roles quite a few times earlier too, he is competent.

They say the movie is a rip off - Husbands & Wives being the inspiration. I haven't watched the original but I enjoyed this one.

Again the one flaw that stands out, is the length in the 2nd half and the pace (it is slow but slows down further later on). All in all a good watch once for married couples.

Verdict - 3/5

ps - with a title like Dil Kabaddi - I expected a raunchy / vulgar movie stressing on sex but though the movie has a lot on sex in it's mind , it's not raunchy at all.

Watched the 'Slumdog Millionaire'. I wasn't too impressed!
And one thing that I didn't quite like- the way India gets portrayed everytime in movies that are released worldwide. All said and done, the impression that India is full of poor people, and its filthy all over the place- that just beats me.
My opinion, doubt if anyone else here would agree with me.
Performances were OK.

Watched " Collateral" yesterday. Wow, what a movie. Tom Cruise looked super hot in white hair and stubble. Jamie Foxx was no less, damn good acting.

And, i also happened to see in the past it's miserable indian copy starring Irffan and Emraan Hashmi

Saw Sorry Bhai last evening, its a so so movie. The movie is very slow and its Boman Irani and Shabana Azmi who are the real stars of this movie. Their chemistry is very very good. Chitrangada looks really really good in the movie but my personal opinion is that she is not a very good actor. Overall the movie is ok and the main problem is that it does not manage to hold on to your interest.
