This is one strange incident, wherein in a man was - quite literally - left hanging by a thread during a kite-flying incident gone wrong in Sri Lanka. He found himself airborne after a strong gust of wind took hold of his kite and literally swept him of his feet and made him airborne. A video footage shows him airborne and hanging on for dear life, to cut a long story short, he let go at some point and landed safely. I guess it must have been a very big heavy kite, never seen one of those that can take the weight of a person.

It was all over Reddit. Some guys pointed out that these are Japanese war kites which were used to make a man airborne. So that he can better see the enemy formations.
