I understand and hope the only maintenance this would require is periodic replacement of cartridges. The company sells one year and two year packs of its various filters and I intend purchasing one of those on my next trip.

I have setup a US purchased RO and am have an issue with the pure water generation. The drain pipe seems to keep flowing but am getting no water from the pure side. I plan to try this in a cousins house later this weekend (just incase my house water TDS of 1550 is too high) but will appreciate any thoughts. I had initially installed this on our first floor service area and then moved it to the kitchen on the ground floor thinking it could be low water pressure. However it is the same even in the kitchen.

It must be time to replace the membrane.

or you could DIY and clean the membrane like this, but it is not easy.

Its generally one time filter change and periodic maintenance is included if you have opted for AMC. If the filters stop working before 12 months they will insist you go with a new AMC from that time.

I have recently purchased Livpure RO which has one-year warranty plan but no AMC plan has been taken yet.

Re: Recommended water purifier?

my Aqua Guard RO enhance is due for a filter replacement. The last one was a year back and though there are no issues, I want to change it periodically. All these years (5 years) we have got it changed through the company, by taking an AMC, but I felt the AMC cost was expensive to continue any longer. Anyone has any good reference for a non OE filter replacement services in Bangalore? Please let me know.

Re: Recommended water purifier?

Suggestion for routine maintenance of the pre-filter :

* Open the pre-filter unit, take out the element.
* To clean the element, hold it agains a sufficiently strong jet of water. The accumulated soil particles will come out easily. The pre-filter is now good to go for another 5-6 weeks.

Re: Recommended water purifier?

I need a non-electric water purifier for my parents. Water used will be entirely well water.

The most obvious choice is Pureit but there seems to be other options like Kent, Aquaguard even for non-electric purifiers. Any feedback from people who have experience will be helpful

Re: Recommended water purifier?

I just cannot understand this noise about neutral pH RO units. What else can be expected with an RO unit. pH has to be kept very near 7.0, say 6.8 to 7.2, so what is the hullabaloo all about.

I think that it is just another gimmick to increase sales to gullible public.

One thing that I read is that absolutely pure water with no dissolved chemicals (demineralised) is pretty potent in leaching metals, especially lead. So I guess that slightly acidic or basic water will be more "neutral".

There are only two or three types of membranes. So your local service guy may be able to help.

Latest LED UV technology (no UV Lamps), no mixing of impure water, consistent pH (i keep a digital pH meter to test besides TDS meter).

Regular service including replacement of ALL filters and disinfecting the stainless steel storage tank and faucet system in AMC. Piece of mind.

I would recommend it readily.

Can you share the TDS of the water your are getting from purifier.
