As OP stated we can also select brands owned by siblings and parents, I voted for Tata which my brother owns and I have driven it quite extensively. I also voted for Toyota which my father owns and I have driven it for like half its odometer reading. But wait, how can I vote for my Toyota? Just kidding.

Anyways for finding out the % for each brand, divide corresponding brands %age by (no of respondents/100). But still, I think we should add multiple cars from a same brand to make it a more accurate poll.

Very interesting poll. It'd be really insightful to see a model-wise breakup. All the brands who keep an eye on Team-BHP would get a really good understanding of the general trends amongst car people/ "enthusiasts" in India... and then they'll go and make a million more CUVs with wishy-washy driving dynamics

P.S. Volkswagen at 4th is probably 80-90% all the Polos people have amassed over the years

There is another problem here. The market share numbers we might be (sub-consciously) benchmarking against are recent sales numbers whereas this poll aggregates numbers across many years. For example: Honda’s recent market share numbers are for the sales done in the period June 2021 ONLY. However Bhpians voting here have bought their cars over a span of atleast last one to two decades. So due to this, Honda which was moving good volumes in the past will show higher numbers in this poll than the usual sales distribution we see in Aditya’s monthly sales threads. This is also the reason GM will have some market share in this poll despite having zero sale in recent months.

A better comparison in my humble option would be to compare these poll numbers against sales distribution of all cars sold in India within last 2 decades. That will give a better idea on how Bhpians’ preferences differ from the norm.

Interesting thread. I know many people / families who hadn't own or will own any other brand except Maruti. Power of brand Maruti in our Country. Would be interesting to know if someone from Team-Bhp has owned only Maruti since beginning and has not owned any other brand?

Can't vote as of now but I'd vote for Tata (Tiago), Mahindra (XUV500) and Hyundai (Verna) all owned by my parents. None of which can really be termed as enthusiast oriented brands (RIP JTP) but still offer me something unique in the driving department. Absolutely adore the mHawk and CRDi engines for their versatility and power delivery. Impressive handling and body control on the Tiago.
