Re: The importance of maintaining eye health in the pandemic

I suffer from dry eyes since the last few years and have been taking Maquibright maqui berry supplements for some time as the slight stickiness of lubricating eye drops on my lashes sometimes increases the irritation instead of helping it. The supplements help quite a bit.
I ran out of stock last year because there wasn't anyone travelling to India from the USA.
Luckily when I went for my checkup the doc informed me that an Indian company is producing a similar product called Maqvue.
I gave it a shot. It's an OK alternative to the original but not as effective as it's only 30mg vs 60mg and also the price is the same as the original if hand carried so it's a bit expensive @1000 for 30 tablets but I would recommend you guys to give it a shot. It takes around 1-2 weeks to kick in properly so do a months course to see if you like it.

Assuming CMC means Carboxymethyl Cellulose, the sodium got me confused. Is it okay to use this?

Fordday.
Yes that is the same thing. Use them freely

I am looking for a good lutein plus zeaxanthin supplement. There are so many brands on Amazon in a wide range of prices. Which are the better brands? I even saw one that seemed to be a part of a big pharmaceutical company (Nicholas Piramal) called Nicholas Nutraceuticals, but a Google search did not show any relationship between the two. Obviously, I want to buy the purest products at the best possible price. I don't think these supplements are regulated in any way, so it is quite difficult to figure out which ones meet some reasonable quality standards.

Hi. Healthvit is good. I've been taking some of their supplements. Made by West Coast Labs which has been around for ages. Nicholas Neutraceuticals is unrelated to Nicholas Piramal where I coincidentally worked at a decade ago ! The Piramal group does own Himalaya though which is also reliable
