Guys,

Masks are here to stay and as a sucker for vanity, I really want to get F1-style masks. Where to buy good quality ones in India?

Note = Although I wouldn't mind the team masks, I am asking more about the style & cut. Thank you!

They are known as U-Mask.

But recently also read a news article where the Italian Government had banned the use of it citing safety concerns.
https://thesportsrush.com/f1-news-al...italy-bans-it/

Quote:

On 27th March, the ban was announced via a press conference and the Ferrari F1 team was given 5 days time to withdraw it. “They do not provide scientific evidence on the ability to maintain filter performance for up to 200 hours of use.”

Maybe work with a supplier and enable Team-Bhp mask which confirms to Norms ? Price it as regular ones do with a branding

Can we have Team-bhp masks?

Edit: Sorry did not see the above post from bharanidharang.

As Tojo_GotBhp pointed out, last season's F1 masks were made by U-Mask. This season, all teams seem to be using regular 3-ply masks.

The style/cut was originally popularised by a Japanese brand called PITTA Mask. It was a huge fashion accessory among the Japanese and Korean celebrities even before the pandemic.

In India, many companies are selling similarly styled masks under the 'Copper Masks' tag. Just search for 'Copper Masks' on Amazon India. I can't vouch for their effectiveness against COVID-19 though.

Mods, please delete this post if its deemed off-topic.

I have seen many interviews of F1 personnel (including drivers, team principals etc) wearing these, during 2020 season - Most of the time the interviewee is seen re-adjusting the mask to properly cover the nose area. Once the person starts talking, the mask seems to shift down with the lower jaw leaving the nose uncovered.

This makes me think the design may not be good enough or effective when the person using it needs to talk a lot.

My 2 cents: While these cloth masks look good, I doubt they are really very effective. My suggestion would be to use surgical masks / N95/ N99 masks, in that order. They are much better for the intended use.

I've been searching for the same since a long time but never found one. Although with the current situation, I'm sticking to the N95 masks. I've been using N95 masks for more than last 1 year, even before the pandemic hit us. And I guess I'll continue with them for a long time to come. My suggestion would be to use N95 whenever moving out.

How do you find genuine N95 stuff? Amazon seems to be flooded with fakes. I had bought Honeywell PM 2.5 masks pre-covid days and those are extremely better compared to the new stock of the same model. Wonder if the new ones are fake or not.

I find regular N95 masks in different solid colors to be the best look as you can match them to contrast or compliment your clothes. My friend being a man of similar taste, had done a lot of research on these U-masks and according to him they're only available in Europe. So either you ask a buddy to bring them down from the UK or wherever or you save yourself the bother and simply go for solid colored regular N95 masks :thumbs up

I've been using Swasa masks. They are very good. They're innovated and developed at SIDBI Incubation, IIT Kanpur and have been tested by various agencies across the world. They have different types available in 2.5ppm as well as 0.3ppm filtration.

Disclaimer - I'm nowhere related to this company, not even remotely.

Ordered the carbon mask from SWASA

I've been using the w95+ masks by Wildcraft. Hope they are doing the job as they claim :)

Man, GTO, after watching Drive to Survive my girlfriend has become a fan of F1 and since then since she has been asking me to find these masks. The closest I could get are these:

The issue is these look smart but not sure how effective they are.

Off topic!

+1. Would highly recommend Wildcraft masks. I wear glasses and every other mask I have tried results in fogging. Wildcraft are the best combination of looks and utility. They claim N95 so effectiveness should be at par as well.
