Railway employee risking it all to save child fallen in front of a speeding train

This video shared by Mr. Piyush Goyal, Minister of Railways sent chills down the spine!
An exemplary show of courage by the man to risk his own life and give it all for saving another life. Kudos Mayur!

Quote from the minister:
Quote:
Very proud of Mayur Shelke, Railwayman from the Vangani Railway Station in Mumbai who has done an exceptionally courageous act, risked his own life & saved a child's life.
The 6 year old was walking on the platform with his visually challenged mother when he accidently slipped and fell onto the track on which, Udyan express was approaching for a non-stop pass through the station

Brave move by that man! Not only does it take courage running towards an approaching train which has no halt at that station, but also to save the child's life as well as his. In most scenarios like these folks are often caught frozen, like a deer in headlights with a train approaching them, unable to think and move. Thank God for such superheroes like him in our daily life.

God, it was gut wrenching to see the poor mother desperately searching for her child. Kudos to the good Samaritan for risking his life and saving the child.

It takes a special kind of soul to risk one's life in the face of oncoming danger. Heroes they are called.

He's earned good karma for a long long time

I see that the station master/lineman waving a green flag even though he saw and was aware that the child and the rescuer on the track. I wonder if that was correct/right? Maybe, if he had waved red, the loco pilot could have applied emergency brakes giving the duo a bit more time? Although both of them survived, the emergency brakes could have given them a second or two more time.

This is simply dancing with death and Mr. Mayur is God amongst men. These types of men are special and he should be rewarded not because he saved someone's life but because he was willing to sacrifice his for someone else.

He waved the green flag after the child and signalman were clear off the tracks to inform the loco pilot who probably couldn't see as the train got closer, if he had hit them or not.
By waving green, the loco pilot is clear to continue at the same speed.

As for braking, he would have applied brakes when he saw what was on the line, but there is no chance of the child not being hit if he had braked or not, if the signalman hadn't been there.
The signalman actually can be seen changing his direction while running towards the child probably thinking that he cannot make it, but then continues swiftly and saves the child. He is a true hero.

Miracles do happen, and this is one fine example. Gratitude to the linesman who risked his life to save that child. The mother being visually challenged, wonder what was going on in her when she heard the cries of the child there.

When watching the clip, for a moment I thought the linesman would move to the other side of the track with the child, but he did this. So happy that he is safe too. Dont want to think what if otherwise ...

Whew!. What an action. Heaps of kudos to the linesman for what he did.

I also thought that the kid himself may have moved to the other line instead of trying to climb, but the child was perhaps in a panic listening to the mother who was screaming. And I was hoping that the linesman also will move himself and the child away to the other line, but somehow, he managed to get him and the child to safety.

As pointed out, the guy waving the green flag also did a nice job - he waited till both child and rescuer were on the platform and then waved the flag. This would have confirmed to the driver that all was well and that he could proceed without worry.

Everyone involved did a great job!

Many were asking why the mother did not react, it was mentioned that she was visually challenged and could not make out, where her kid fell.

And he donates half the award money to the mother and the child, and requests others who want to donate it to him to donate it to the mother or donate it to those in need in these trying Covid times.

If there is any real life super hero, he is definitely one. A lot to learn from him on where we stand as a human being, SALUTES!
