Likewise, trying since three days to download the certificate from cowin website. The certificate link on closer inspection shows pointing to https://selfregistration.cowin.gov.in/dashboard

That is correct. Not intuitive, it then says Register Yourself." But next screen says Register or Login.

Re: Covid-19 Vaccine | Registration & Experiences

I got my Covishield vaccination on 12th March. Registered myself through cowin.gov.in and got the confirmation on sms but the same website still shows dose 1 as “not scheduled”.

Then I contacted the hospital and they promptly gave me the dose 1 certificate hard copy. They said must be a system error and since I got the certificate I thought all is well.

Later from home I checked the Cowin website which surprisingly still shows dose 1 not scheduled. Next I tried printing the certificate through the Aarogya Setu app and it gave an error “mobile number not matching with the beneficiary id” (the one mentioned in the certificate).

Although I have a hard copy certificate for the provisional first dose from the hospital, as per both the Cowin website and Aarogya Setu app I have not received the first dose at all. The hospital could not offer any explanation for this except calling it a system error.

How is this possible and what could I do about this. Please give me your suggestions for a solution to this strange situation. Thanks in advance folks.

The good part in all this - I had no side effects of the vaccination. Just a slight pain on the vaccination site.

Cheers

Re: Covid-19 Vaccine | Registration & Experiences

What a splendid experience! Love the Central, State, Local governments and authorities. Hats off to the staff and volunteers @ BKC. Any way to contribute $$$ to this exercise?

Went early to the mega BKC vaccination center at 845 without an appointment. Wheelchairs and attendants were on standby (Mom needs the assistance). Registration desk completed at 855 and vaccine administered at 856. 10 minutes of observation in a clean & large hall and we left for home. Paracetamol tablets given by them for 2 days. Blown away. Ample parking too! Please take your senior citizen folks to BKC only and get there early in the morning. An hour earlier in the morning could save you 2 - 3 hours overall.

This has been the benchmark for efficiency, systems, crowd management and operational skills. Again, all this without an appointment! Couldn't take an appointment as whether Mom can step out or not greatly depends on how she slept the previous night, how tired she is in the morning, her pressure etc. It's a hit or miss on most mornings.

It's now 48 hours. Day 1 afternoon side effect = sleepiness (she slept for 3 hours straight). Day 1 evening & Day 2 morning = tiredness. By Day 2 evening, she was getting back to her normal self. Day 3 is good.

Voting on behalf of Mum on the poll.

Do diabetics compulsorily need a prescription from a diabetologist to get the vaccine ?

If you are over 60- not needed. My dad got vaccinated last week and he has diabetes, no prescription required.

Re: Covid-19 Vaccine | Registration & Experiences

My dad is also on diabetic medication. He went for his regular checkup and the clinic also did the vaccination on the spot for him.

Over past few days, a lot of senior citizens in our family and in our neighborhood have got themselves vaccinated. All of them just did a walkin and got the vaccination done effortlessly in the nearby hospitals.

Must applaud all the efforts put in by various govt/private entities in the entire chain to make this vaccination drive such a hassle free experience for the needy people. Considering the massive scale of our country, this vaccination drive has been well planned and equally well executed.

Now the wait begins for the next dose.

Re: Covid-19 Vaccine | Registration & Experiences

My wife is an unwilling vaccine doubter, but she took her first dose yesterday morning. She had pains in the arm from shoulder to fingers. Her body temperature was lower than usual, and she had headache. Mild symptoms, but she was uncomfortable for the day.

It is great relief to me that we are both now vaccinated with first dose, although I am a couple of weeks ahead. Hey, I might even have two or three antibodies now

Parents got their first shot yesterday and my mom is down with fever and dad has slight body ache. Hopefully they both can get back to normal soon enough. Fingers crossed.

I am sure you are already providing mataji with the best of health care and have received numerous well intentioned suggestions in the past. Allow me to join that list.

I heartily recommend Dr. Pareexit Shevde who is a renowned Ayurved Vaidya . He hasn't treated me personally but two of my friends in Mumbai who have consulted him are all praises for his diagnosis and treatment.

Re: Covid-19 Vaccine | Registration & Experiences

My parents and in-laws, all of them around 60 years of age, have taken the first dosage of Covishield vaccination 10 days back. My grandfather, now in his early 90s, took the first dosage of the vaccination a week back. None of them have had any symptoms, except my Mother in-law who had mild headache and fever only on Day 1.

Any thoughts from doctors in the forum about the suspension of the Astra zeneca vaccine in a few European countries?

I feel it's more of a political plus business issue rather than a genuine one. Clots can happen to anyone if there are some predisposing factors.

Re: Covid-19 Vaccine | Registration & Experiences

My parents took the first dose of Covishield vaccine (in Kerala) on 11th March. Dad is 70+ and mom is in her late 60s, no post-vaccination issues/discomfort so far.
