How many countries have you visited so far?

Interesting thread and a way to actually exercise my memory cells, in the order I visited (as much as I can remember, the first 5 are definitely correct but falls apart after that)

Spain (was working in Barcelona for about 6 months), 2) UK, 3) France, 4) Kenya, 5) Mozambique, 6) Denmark, 7) Ethiopia

After this is random sequence

8) Vietnam (3 times at last count), 9) Thailand, 10) Australia, 11) China, 12) USA, 13) Mexico, 14) Jamaica, 15) Trinidad and Tobago (yes I went and took a photo in the oval as also outside Lara's house which is a landmark in Kingston), 16) Senegal, 17) UAE / Dubai, 18) Qatar, 19) KSA, 20) Sri Lanka, 21) Bangladesh, 22) New Zealand, 23) Colombia (Yes, went to the Narcos highlights of Medellin also), 24) Argentina, 25) DRC (Congo), 26) South Africa, 27) Tanzania, 28) Angola, 29) Russia (Dec-Feb 2015 / 16, saw - 25* and it was a mild winter apparently), 30) Finland, 31)Germany, 32) Poland, 33) Austria, 34) Romania, 35) Greece, 36) Malta, 37) Bulgaria (34-37 was in one series of business visits), 38) Japan, 39) H&K (does it count as a separate country now?), 40) Namibia (desert but cold as hell), 41) Croatia, 42) Turkey

I think am missing a few but this is about 90% of it. Many of these I have had the pleasure of visiting many times over...and 43) Uganda, 44) Rwanda

Been mugged in 3 places,

Chicago, Maputo (Mozambique- by the cops no less) and DRC (shaken down right in the Kinshasa airport by more cops....go figure) and have had lovely experiences everywhere.

I keep a count of the countries I visit and waiting to reach 20 now, though travelling is a distant dream now.

In chronological order, the countries I visited

1. India - Born and been living here
2. Nepal - 2002 - 2003, dad was posted briefly in Nepal
3. Russia - 2007 - On the way to USA
4. USA - 2007 - Took the All terrain vehicle I had made to the Mini Baja competition in Rochester
5. Malaysia - 2009 - Vacation
6. Singapore - 2009 - Vacation
7. Bhutan - 2010 - Vacation
8. Thailand - 2013 - Vacation
9. New Zealand - 2016 - Vacation
10. Germany - 2017 - Vacation
11. Austria - 2017 - Vacation
12. Hungary - 2017 - Vacation
13. Slovakia - 2017 - Vacation
14. Czech - 2017 - Vacation
15. Oman - 2017 - Vacation
16. UAE - 2018 - Work
17. Vietnam - 2018 - Work
18. Sri Lanka - 2019 - Work

Interesting thread, I would also expect a similar thread discussing about states traveled across India.

Vacation: Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia (Bintan Island).

Business: Germany, Thailand, China(3), postponed my USA business trip scheduled on 2020 March 17-26th to 2021 due to covid.

Sporting : Nanjing, China for World Speed skating Championship 2017.

Thailand- simply tourism- People see you as a money minting machine.
China- Most technologically advanced, forward thinking, helping and very very hard working people. ( They work for the world, whole day is a shift, if they are an exporting company).
Singapore- Beautiful country with happiest people.
Indonesia- OMG, world can learn meaning of hospitality from them.
Germans- Beautiful and scenic, think business, think Germans!

So far, I have visited Ireland, Malaysia, USA, UK, Thailand, Bangladesh and Portugal. Out of these, Ireland, USA, UK and Portugal are for work purpose, rest are for vacation.

If transit countries are taken into consideration, then Germany, Hong Kong and UAE.

8 countries so far and hope to cover many more.

Another related data point I keep track of is how many Indian states I have visited. I am happy that I have covered all except Jammu Kashmir, Ladakh and the seven NE states.

For some time international travel will be restricted but I feel lucky that we live in such a vast country with amazing possibilities for travel. Hope to cover India extensively going ahead.

My visit to Pakistan was way back in in 2003 for about 2 weeks. It was a Business trip. You are right. The Expressway was excellent and modelled on Western concept.

1 as of now, SAUDI ARABIA. I would call it my second home as I am a permanent resident here and not a visitor.

Have visited Bahrain but just up to the check post. Will be visiting UAE and Georgia when the best time comes. No other countries in the Wishlist.

But I have visited airports at Oman, Qatar, Dubai, Sharjah & Abu Dhabi many a time for connection flights.

Been in telecom software sales for over a couple of decades and I have had the good fortune of travelling the world (49 countries be precise - list attached), both on business & holiday. Given the work context I have visited some countries over 25 times and accumulated 8 passports along the way; all of them, except the first one, of 60 pages.

Pre-covid I used to be on the road 2 weeks a month and badly missing the skies. :-(

I use an app named 'Been' to keep track of countries that I have visited. So far, I have made it to 17 countries and seen 6% of the world.

I have visited in excess of 25~30 countries, in my years of sailing the seas, and I always felt most happy when I am home, viz. India. Nothing to beat that.

Thanks to my employers. I feel the USA is the cheapest of all in terms of Food and Stay...

I have visited a total of 36 countries including India. If transit countries are to be excluded then the count would be 32.
