I completely agree with this, as bollywood is in the worst phase of it, where they can't create good music or if not good, at least catchy music neither they are doing good in movie space.
They have resorted to artists and their popularity for this, for a while they were partnering with the likes of nucleya and are now completely over punjabi songs (not that they are meaningful but atleast catchy).
A movie can't be launched without a Punjabi song in it and mind you, that's a forceful addition, it won't fit with the genre, nor with the situation but it'll be there. If not during the movie then in the credits.
As for the songs which are 'outsourced' from Punjab, the scripts are from south. Bollywood is in doldrums. Songs wise or script wise, web series are doing pretty good job, a little more reach and popularity, people will start to see the real gems.
