DIY Lockdown Gardening : A tree trunk for our stray pepper plant A tree trunk for our stray pepper plant
Wifey realized there was a small black pepper plant growing in our yard, and unfortunately it was not near to any trees that had a huge trunk for it to grow up. I did not want to transplant it near the bigger trees since already those trees had pepper, beetle leaf and Vanilla climbing on it.
So I decided to bring a huge tree near it. That was the DIY the weekend before. Got a 20 feet long 6 inch diameter pipe. Made it to two equal pieces of 10 feet each. Got two end caps and covered its one end. Then got a bunch of rope Covered the pipe in rope to make the pipe look like a rough tree bark to our pepper plant. Comparing the two pieces The end caps fitted. Why? When it is kept upright, there are chances that rain water gets filled and the weight pulls it down, our naughty cats can fall inside and becomes dangerous for them. So its better the top is covered and secured. The coir handy work Close up Made a 1.5 feet deep pit and erected the designer tree trunk made by self. Packed the pit with a lot of rocks to keep the pipe intact, before covering up back with mud. Got the pepper plant to touch and feel the new trunk for it to grow Finally all set up, now waiting for the pepper plant to like it and grow up. And the second one was given to this pepper vine, looks nice next to our pergola
Presented the artwork to Wifey. She looked impressed, but on telling the economics she was . Now we are not in talking terms, need to find something else to impress, and of course less budget DIYs would help, after all I need access and approvals for future funding for my crazy DIYs
