Hi prabuddhadg,

Yeah Chuck is an old favourite..though do not get to listen to him much these days..will rectify this..Midnight special is great song..there are many others too fr CCR..Another group like from 70s is Jefferson Airplane : Their song I absolutely love is "Don't you need somebody to love? / Wouldn't you love somebody to love? Don't you need somebody to love?
An OT : But if you have seen the movie "Cable guy", Jim Carey is lipsyncing & gyrating on this song "Don't you want somebody to love"..Absolutely ROCKING!

I love Lynrd Skynrd too..Sweet Home Alabama /Swamp Song/ & offcourse my anthem..."Free Bird" are all time favourites..

I wish i was too. Love those 70s & early 80s as well. The movies, the music, the shows, all were fantastic in those days. MTV was started on August 1st in the year 1985 (i think) with the song 'Video killed the radio star' sung by the buggles & that about sums up the music scene now.

Hey,

I think the song was "free falling" by Tom Petty in the Jerry Maguire movie with Tom Cruise on the wheels..not "Free Bird" which is by Lynrd Skynrd..

Another OT (since we are talking about great songs in hollywood movies) In movie "Face Off" the goons take control of the airplane & the song playing is Sweet Home Alabama (by Lynrd Skynrd) on the radio & one of the guys in the movie says "how ironic that these guys are playing the song of the band who died in the plane crash...And that what happends to the plane in the movie..it crash lands or something in the movie..Touche'...

I am not very good with downloading music & stuff ..I belong to a different (read : older ) generation, where one used to put down hard earned money on the music shop counter & pick cassettes or cds or beg/ borrow from friends/relatives If you like you can buy lynrd skynrd double cd album for rupees 395 - its a steal (Universal music import). Absolute value & quality music, cannot be compared with downloaded music at all..

Cheers
