Bangalore traffic claims yet another vehicle - for all we know there were autorickshaws illegally parked on the runway

This is funny media... they start giving breaking news by breaking the news itself.. some channels says initially that jet skid while taking off.. now its landing ..

These channels are in a rat race to present the news first sometimes without actually going into details.

Why R&D too? There are other prototypes too of the HJT-36, the plane in question.

Too bad the crash occured right under the limelight of the press and media. Generates bad publicity for our indigenous programme that requires our whole-hearted support and encouragement.

Here's hoping the IJT programme is successful and also leads to the development of the indigenous Advanced Jet Trainer HJT-39, so that we wouldn't need to import the likes of Hawk in future.

Erm, HAL needs a good spanking and a couple of sackings. Their contribution so far has been one LCA delayed by some decade or so, and an IJT that will never lead to an AJT. Their ALH crashed as well, if anyone remembers. Their biggest contribution is the traffic jam created near the airport every day when they shut shop at 3 pm and their employees wander about like so many misguided sheep without a shepherd.

The show was delayed 1 hour because of that, the IJT was very very pathetically slow while it was taxiing down the runway and it didn't seem like it would get off the runway and as i thought it didn't. Saw the plane disappear down the runway and then later a huge cloud of dust up in the air. And today in the paper i read that there was not enough thrust from the engine. That's why the plane was slow. Later on the 'tiger' Gypsy came and was looking at the runway as if looking for something.

From where i was standing dint get to see the plane.
