This is a trending shady practice nowadays. Attract people with tempting offers and then after the order is placed, cancel the order unilaterally giving some vague reason like out of stock. I've experienced this with Flipkart, Snapdeal (a while ago) and thrice with JioMart app.

Amazon is my preferred e-commerce solely for their customer service who don't treat every customer with suspicion. With Flipkart, it is more like guilty until proven innocent, nay, escalation of innocence.

I've been unfortunate to have got fake powerbanks on three occasions from three different sellers. eBay customer service refunded the amount, told me to keep the device and sent some additional coupons as apology. Flipkart denied it outright and after multiple escalations collected it back and issued refund after a while. Amazon replaced the device with another fake one. Since then I bought powerbanks and fitness bands directly from mi.com directly.

Can't somebody sue them for all the fakes they peddle? They're doing this so brazenly, it's like the law doesn't exist

Re: Story of my treadmill purchase from Flipkart

I recently wanted to purchase a treadmill and shortlisted a Durafit 2.5 HP model. The model wasn't available on Amazon so the two choices I had left was to buy it from the Durafit company website or from Flipkart. The durafit company website was charging 300 rupees to deliver, whereas Flipkart had free delivery and INR 1500 off using SBI card. I chose Flipkart and that probably created a interesting story to tell..

Ordered the treadmill from Flipkart, seller ==FitnessSolutions, it was shipped after 3 days via Delhivery and arrived at the near hub in 3 more days. There it sat, everyday, with me checking the Delhivery tracking page many times a day in the hopes of seeing the "Out for delivery" update, which kept alluding me After a few days, I escalated to both Delhivery and Flipkart and got standard responses like "backend team is checking". I ended up escalating to Delhivery twice (via email and via their website ticket system). .
I would squarely blame one party, Delhivery. Although, I don't use Flipkart much, but they are ok.

As for Delhivery, there hasn't been one single normal experience with them.
First, it's a given that your parcel will have some cooling off period at their warehouse.

Once out for delivery, the delivery person will ALWAYS have an issue on hand, their favorite one being "come and collect the parcel", and they never give you a second chance. They will hit delivery failed button in seconds. Imagine the agony and the extreme sadness, you waiting for that new shiny phone\item and the delivery person cancels it from the office\apartment entry gate after you refuse to go collect it ..

Nowadays, when we get deliveries all the time, from Amazon, Zomato, other vendors etc., and they all seem to be just fine. Only Delhivery guys manages to disappoint me each time.

It almost seems Delhivery has special training for their delivery partners to treat their customers like crap. They are also consistent on their awful behavior pan India, I have personally encountered them in Gurgaon, New Bombay, Guwahati, Chennai, my home town in Rajasthan, and boy, their standards are exemplary for awful service.

I know, I'm being critical but if many people don't like Flipkart then these delivery partners definitely have a role in that.

If you managed to read my rant this far, thank you.

Edit: Just went through other posts in the thread, Delhivery seems to be winning everyone's heart.

Re: Malpractices in Flipkart's Big Billion sale

Amazon is definitely the way to go for a tension free online shopping experience. Nowadays the discounts are almost the same on both platforms and unless you are looking for something sold exclusively on Flipkart, there is no need to go that way! Amazon customer service is much more customer obsessed, easier to reach and is actually interested in being the customers advocate.

I tried to recently buy a MacBook Air on Flipkart by exchanging my old Lenovo laptop. The delivery guy refused to accept the exchange because my laptop was missing a rubber leg. I tried convincing him in vain that it met all the quality checks of Flipkart as mentioned on their website and also this missing rubber part which is a wear and tear part does not really affect the functionality. I even tried convincing his supervisor who did not buy my argument and insisted that the exchange will be rejected. Customer care wasn't any help either and told me clearly the decision of the delivery partner is final. I went ahead and bought the MacBook at an Apple reseller for a price lower than on Flipkart.

I think they let me keep the cable, cause they were not able to get it picked up. Not as compensation for my agony.

I am not sure how a company as theirs is operating. The last mile guys are quite weird and notorious. Two more experiences, Amazon --> Delhivery.

1. Dishwasher :- Out for delivery - status on site. No contact by Delhivery. Day end status "customer cannot be contacted". Suddenly got the item 2 days later. For 48H the consignment was in limbo, God knows where. Amazon CC, just said they will follow up, and get back. Never did.

2. Washing Machine :- The item reaches on time. Of course in IFB robust carton packaging. They bring it to the drawing room foyer, see the narrow kitchen. "We cannot take the machine to the service balcony"; which is beyond the kitchen. I was like "really". Why. "It will not fit through". I literally said, "naap ke dekhaon". (Should I measure it). I pulled out an inch tape, measured the box vs. the kitchen space. Told them off, and said, put it in the balcony! (They had ample space to maneuver and put the machine in the balcony).

Why is Amazon using this company?

I have bought a lot of stuff on exchange from Flipkart recently - which include 2 mobile phones, a washing machine and a refrigerator.

What I have seen is Flipkart does a more stringent evaluation of the item than Amazon. In the case of my washing machine they reduced the amount by 850 as the machine had some rust and a misbehaving button none really affecting the usability. A Nokia phone I exchanged was inspected for about 10-15 mins before he accepted it. Essentially what happens is they have checklists to fill, so if something is missing as per the checklist, they would reject the item or reduce the amount.

In your case, although unfortunate, a missing part essentially means the item is not "complete" and not suitable for exchange. They have to go by the script as they are acting on behalf of the company and not buying the laptop for their own use.

Re: Malpractices in Flipkart's Big Billion sale

I was recently cheated by Flipkart by delivering a damaged iphone SE. I submitted a return request within 2 min of delivery. After several follow ups, they approved the return, but giving excuses on pick up time. Evey time they miss a deadline, a new date will be given which is 5 more days away. I also got a case opened with them hoping some attention. Except that I get a call from very junior representatives from Flipkart, there is no progress on pick up of refund.
It is worth moving legal with them? Has anyone done it. If yes, what online platforms are helpful to fight a legal battle?

Ordered a Samsung phone from flipkart this week and I had to open the box in front he of the delivery executive as per some new rule. They also mentioned this when the order was being placed. When you say damaged, do you mean physically damaged?

Tampered box and scratches on screen. It appeared to be a demo piece or an abused phone. I did not power on, so do not know the rest of the story.
Interestingly this was delivered at 5:45am. I was out of bed, otherwise I would have kept the delivery person on while opening.

Who was the seller? Was the item "Flipkart Assured"?

NGIVR Retails and they are Flipkart-Assured. Their rating is good too. Thats why I decided to buy.
I have bought phones and TVs from Flipkart in past. This was the first time such a serious mess up happened.
I have experienced several such incidents with Amazon and mostly issues resolved within 24-48 hours. I am counting 10th day with Flipkart and they are moving the date with no regret.

Amazon is clearly 10 times more competent in handling customer cases and refund. Product wise, both of them have sellers who want to cheat customers.

You may want to do some investigation on your own. Check the serial no on the invoice, on the box and on the phone and make sure it is the same. That way you can find out whether somebody swapped the phone during transit. Also you can key in the serial no in the apple warranty page and see if it is a new piece.

I have bought a lot of phones from Flipkart and Amazon in the past (I buy 3-4 every year) but have never received a tampered box.

Things have gotten worse. They picked up the item 2 days back after several follow ups and escalation. Now they are not able to trace the picked up item.
I am getting messages and automated calls since then stating pick up is scheduled and by end of day get another message that pick up is cancelled as customer decided to keep the product.
Tried all means to get their attention, including twitter. They give standard response with future date and promise resolution.
Looks like I am left with only legal options now. First legal notice and then consumer forum is the option right?

Re: Malpractices in Flipkart's Big Billion sale

Had the same issue with Flipkart while ordering the Moto G40.

Device was dead on arrival. Flipkart was very courteous and the tech deemed the thing as dead on arrival, but, boy the ekart were a bunch of thugs.

Repeatedly, cancelled the pickup and said that they won't pickup the thing, ever. Got that on recording and fired off an email with the recording.

Refunded within 3 hours and i was asked to destroy the phone. Did the same.

Funnily, after all this was done, the ekart field agent comes to pick it up, 10-12 days later. Hand him the remains of the phone and play the recording of Flipkart asking me to destroy.

The look on his face was worth watching.
