Reach out to Panatech; they import Humanetics dummies.

Let me warn you that a crash test dummy costs around 60000 mounds so it will not be cheap!

Aren't those dummies loaded with sensors to measure impact at various points like head, neck, chest etc.? I didn't know these would be commercially available for purchase! I imagine them to be super expensive too!

Do you actually need a fully loaded test dummy for your shoot? Why don't you just get one fabricated?

Maybe the ones used for films do not come with sensors - but are just like manequins. And hence will be cheaper to use than the crash test dummies.

Re: Want to buy a Crash Test Dummy in India

Yes I got the quote, they are expensive but I am getting lookalikes made for a slightly cheaper cost. Thanks for the link @GTO

(Of course I don't need the sensors, just the look and some movement in the joints because they are supposed to come crashing down in slow motion).

The team of Sabu Cyril can do anything that involves electro-mechanical / animatronics. He is currently the best in India. Being in the art department you should have his contacts. http://www.sabucyril.com/ is his website, a very slow loading one but with some stuff to see.

Re: Want to buy a Crash Test Dummy in India

Hi! sandeepmdas

Yes we all know Sabu, but not enough budget on this shoot for him. The original crash test dummies cost close to Rs 300,000/- each. I need about 4. So we are getting them made by another Art director. Will cost us under 80,000 each. Of course it won’t be scientific and sophisticated with sensors and weight etc, but for our needs it will do the job.
