Your surfing pattern on Team-BHP?

I use Team BHP on IOS. Almost never on the computer.

So I go straight to subscribed and see what is happening. Then to the time line and finally PMs. I mostly pick new threads from the timeline.

Yes, Team BHP is the first app I open in the morning and the last read for the day as well.

Re: Your surfing pattern on Team-BHP?

For me it's always 'User CP' to see updates on subscribed threads, followed by the 'New Posts' section. Once in a while, I check out the "Test Drives & Initial Ownership reports' section to see if I have missed anything.

I've noticed that most of the interesting threads pop up in the 'New Posts' list (Like this one ).

Re: Your surfing pattern on Team-BHP?

When browsing through my cellphone, I start with my profile as I have marked that page as a bookmark. That way, I can keep an eye on my basic stats and also I don't have to type the URL in the address bar of my tiny phone screen.

Next is generally the 'new posts' hyperlink which I scroll through to check for any interesting topics, threads, etc. I have kept it simple

Thanks!

Mine is pretty simple too -

1. Subscribed threads
2. New Topics
3. New Posts

Re: Your surfing pattern on Team-BHP?

I straightaway go to "Today's Posts" and go through all the pages.
If I need to post in any of those threads, I log in .

I find the old threads which are listed below in a section which have relevant subjects very useful.

Re: Your surfing pattern on Team-BHP?

Well, I'm mostly a lurker here. Believe, I can divide mine into three patterns

I) When I'm bored or have time to spare :

New Posts -> scan through all the threads -> read and thank the posts that are interesting -> bookmark the travelogues and threads that need a thorough reading

II) Short browsing sessions : A quick glance at New Topics

III) When I've sleepless nights :

- New Posts in the last 24 hours
- Binge read my bookmarked threads, dig up an old thread in Vintage and Classics section (my new found interest)

Also, I scan through our Classifieds section (and OLX) once in a while

1) User CP
2) Home
3) New Topics
4) Today's Post (Optional)
5) Classifieds

Re: Your surfing pattern on Team-BHP?

Wow. This is a great thread. My sequence is somewhat like this -
1. User CP - be it on mobile browser or on laptop as it's bookmarked.
2. New posts
3. New topics at times.
I generally read PMs if there are some otherwise I just browse. I very rarely visit the homepage. Many a times I get confused as to what to read, then I leave.

But please don't ask me how many times in a day this cycle is repeated.

Re: Your surfing pattern on Team-BHP?

User CP
New Posts

Usually only find time to glance through for a few minutes now and then.

Almost never go to the homepage.

Occasionally the Classifieds section.

Re: Your surfing pattern on Team-BHP?

Great thread. Didn’t know people browsed Tbhp so differently. My way is

- PM’s if any.
- Subscribed threads.
- New Threads.

If there is more time. Go to the Forum and check
- 4x4 Section
- Technical Stuff
- Modifications and Accessories

If there is even more time.
- Indian Car scene
- Motorbikes
- Shifting Gears

If I have all the time in the world. Then the rest of the new posts.

Generally I tend to read only unread threads.

Re: Your surfing pattern on Team-BHP?

Step 1: Check gmail to see if there are any "New Private Messages".

Step 2: Jump from gmail to Team-BHP to respond to PMs or quoted posts. If a quoted post does not warrant a reply, I 'thank' the poster - sort of like acknowledgement that his post has been read by me.

Step 3: Again, browse through gmail for Team-BHP notifications and check the most interesting topics

Step 4: Check the home page for any new Hot Threads or News

Step 5: Check "new topics" link

3. Hot threads

4. News

5. New topics

6. New posts

Re: Your surfing pattern on Team-BHP?

This is my weekday routine:
1) Open the Home Page. Open all the News Items I want to read.
2) Click Forum and just check any threads last updated interest me.
3) Click New Posts and I nearly stay there the entire day checking intermittently. I generally end up clicking many threads and some are regulars for me.
4) Check New Threads

Its like a religion now. I don't even need to look at the screen. I probably know the exact mouse movements to reach these links. This might be a bit of exaggeration

Re: Your surfing pattern on Team-BHP?

Starts with User CP, finish going thru /reply the subscribed threads with new updates. Move on to New Topics, open those which I find interesting – read, reply or subscribe. The cycle goes on for a few times during the day (as low as thrice a day).

Visit to home page/hot threads normally happen once or maybe twice a day. And PMs / quoted posts are read and replied as and when it arrives.

C'mon GTO - Do you really need to ASK this question of us, when you can have 100X better answers by using a multitude of tools?

You can know exactly, where people land first, how much time they spend where, where do they move to, where they almost never move to, how much does the search feature get used (both generic and within threads) etc. etc. You would be able to slice and dice this information, across the registered user age groups, gender, location, and other parameters.
I'm sure any tool will give you better insights on, for example, how I traverse this forum, than what I can replay in a comment on this thread. Unless the only point to this question, is to stimulate this line of conversation and disseminate this across the members.
