Beautiful photography Sandesh. Your parapet is being put to great use:-). Tempted by you I bought the Ambassador. Now I'm going to invest in the Gypsy.

Even I have this one! It’s a a pretty good model for the price. Definitely puts models costing twice as much to shame, when it comes to details and functionality. Here’s mine posing with my 1:24 Mercedes W201 (Bburago):

I remember buying a die cast premier padmini "kaali-peeli" taxi toy in the late 1980's from Madras, fairly accurate model, my brother bought a red series II or II land rover and the bonnet could open, always envied his model over mine...

In the early 90's from New Delhi, most probably CP, I bought a Maruti Gypsy and a omni toy, again good quality but plastic.

I DO NOT recollect the brands but yes things indeed were available.

Great looking models. If I were to knit pick, tyres appear excessively jutting out.
BTW, Where did you get Maruti decals from?

Thank you Sir. Credit goes to the excellent models - they make the photographs look good .

The Gypsy comes with waterslide decals similar to the ones that we get on some HM aircraft models - which we had discussed in the Aircraft Scale models thread. Applying them can be tricky.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

Holi turned out to be the perfect day to add some color to my 1:18 911 collection. All other models so far have been silver (my favorite combo) but decided to experiment this time around. 1:18 Turbo S by Minichamps

Re: The Scale Model Thread

Made a wall hanging out of a totalled Range Rover:

I had a 1:14 Black Range Rover Sport. It was an RC car and was pretty well detailed. However, a long time ago, I had left it in my driveway unattended, during which time, it got run over by my car.

The rear end was obliterated beyond repair. I had just thrown it away into my storeroom and forgotten about it. However, this extended Holi weekend, I was getting bored, so decided to do something interesting with it. Grabbed a hacksaw knife and an orange rattle can and got to work. Cut the damaged rear end out and painted the relatively intact front half into a dual tone orange-black combo. Used a shopping bag string to hang it on the wall. This is how I made a Range Rover wall hanging:

Beautiful idea superimposing the cars onto the line maps of the race tracks. Lovely frames too.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

I didn't realize that i such a big Porsche fan till i went back and looked at the pics of my Porsche scale models. Thought this would be a good moment to document it, so doing just that.
As our house is being re-done, my entire collection is currently packed and these mostly old pics of the models. I plan to create a proper display for my beloved 1:18s once the house is done.

The theme for the 911s has always been silver (5 models and counting) and more often than note, even on the configurator i end up with a silver Porsche. The yellow and blue ones are a recent addition and there is an absolutely gorgeous purple one on order.

1. 911 GT3 RS (2015) by Minichamps
2. 911 Targa by Porsche Exclusive
3. 911R by Spark
4. 911 GT2 RS by AutoArt
5. 911 GT3 Touring by Norev
6. 911 Turbo S by Minichamps
7. 911 GT3 by Maisto (Didnt click the actual car)

The 918 is also silver and is a part of my modern holy trinity collection and is made by Minichamps

The GT4 is a black on black and made by GT Spirit. The Cayenne GTS is also made by GT Spirit.
